    Tanks for the memories--Grounding issues

Bill, one of us needs to call the factory--I'll let you know what I learn. You do the same, yes?

    I'd Like Bigger Tanks

Did the putting in the gas, pumping the system, and running the boat part at 6 AM on Saturday. Ran twenty miles, including a tour of Annapolis's Ego Alley, to get home before my wife fully woke up. I must be slipping--so far no leaks, no runs, no errors. What a pleasant surprise. Also...

Use them in good health, Dave. Now bring the whole boat. You'll be welcome.

    Tanks for the memories--Grounding issues

News from the bloomin'Bay country--got my new tanks in, and today trundled "Snowdon" out in afternoon traffic for a stroll to the gas station. $90 dollars later, I have 21 gallons in my new port tank, and 22 in my starboard tank, plus six gallons in a portable tank between them, with a line to...

    I'd Like Bigger Tanks

The professional answer I can give you, as a social worker with about 29 years of experience, to the grounding of gas tanks, given my recent experience--when I took the old Mueller 18 gallon tanks out, there were ground (white) wires attached (i.e. touching) to the fuel feed outlets, which were...

    I'd Like Bigger Tanks

...And so, the final parts shipment arrived by next day air, three days later, on Monday of this past week. I dithered for the next several days, assembling tools, reading the (corrected) instructions, and getting ready to drill holes in Snowdon's bottom. Today, (Saturday) turned out to be the...

Thanks, Charlie and John for the inspirational words of comfort, in case I convert Snowdon into the world's largest collander in the next few days. And so, I forge on--I have stories to tell, but they'll wait. John--you don't have to make it in one push from Chestertown--we could hook up...

    06/19 - 06/20 - Potomac River Cruise

Enjoy--St. Mary's City is a neat destination. I hope some or all of us will have time to meander a bit when we get together. There is just flat too much to enjoy in one bite, though. And, again, in other news-- I now have all my parts. Snowdon is one step closer to bigger, better tanks...

So I sent back the cushions--and got my second parts package from the factory, next day air. Great response--except again, parts missing. :amgry No words for my joy. Go to my happy place. Breathe. Other people love me. I think.

I suspect that by June I will have all the pieces, and maybe will have my tanks acturally in the boat, connected to the various suckers and blowers that lead to my putt-putt, and will be feeling like a real cool dude. Jane and I look forward to meeting y'all. As a former grunt amongst the...

    I'd Like Bigger Tanks

So then, again-- Easter Monday. The good news--my tanks arrived late in the afternoon. Yay! Then, I opened the boxes. Now the rest of the story--I have two tanks, vent and filler hose, clamps, screws, etc--but several pieces mentioned in the instructions (apparently adequate for most people...

    Floorboards

I sent an email to Les, and he emailed me back within the evening. The guy is awesome. The floorboards he describes a bit different than I was thinking. They're fiberglass, kind of heavy, two pieces, finished in tan or grey, and lay in and cover the cockpit area. I think I might prefer...

    Floorboards

I just noticed Les seems to outfit his CDs with floorboards as an option. Last summer, I ran with industrial rubber mats, but the sun did something to them, and I got black rubber soot over everything until I had the brains to pull them out of the cockpit and put them under my lawn tractor in...

Cod Creek...Cod Creek...Cod Creek. Got it. Now, keeping it will be my little challenge. Cod Creek...Cod Creek... For those who wish, almost any direction (except maybe south) from the mouth of Cod Creek (I got it!) will run you smack dab into something interesting if you go far enuf. South...

    I'd Like Bigger Tanks

So, then--today I get a call from Jill at C-Dory. My tanks are shipping today, by ground, and should be here by Easter Monday, at the latest. Yay! Stay tooned. :D In other news, I'm still ruminating about putting p-traps in at the fuel vents, but haven't yet done so. Any strong opinions as...

Okay, Charlie-- It looks like I'm already signed up, as the "moderator". Yikes. I've never been accused of "moderating" anything. Is that like being Vice-Chancellor of the Known Universe? Been there, done that, I have, but never "moderated" anything. How does one moderate? Is there pain...

    Out With Th'Old..What The Hoo?...

Charlie-- Yessir, still without tanks installed. I have a call into the factory as I write waiting for this week's news about where all the tanks be. In the meantime, I got Snowdon serviced, a big Racor 320 water separator installed where I can see and get to it, and rigged for three portable...

    06/19 - 06/20 - Potomac River Cruise

We're getting overlapping replies, it looks like--Okay, folks, let's talk. Do we want a rendezvous near the mouth of the Potomac, or near Annapolis, on or near the weekend of June 19-20? Either way, count us in. Up near Annapolis, we'd be glad to host--depending on the weather and the...

    06/19 - 06/20 - Potomac River Cruise

June 19 and 20 would work great for us--and we have a great place to anchor in Harness Creek, just south of Annapolis. Tbink about it. It would be fun to meet some of the C-Dory crowd on the right coast, and we can run shuttle service to some of the best Irish pubs around.
