    I think I bought a boat!

Anyone want to look this one over and tell me what you think? Put down deposit subject to survey and sea trial on a well used but priced right 2004 C-25. It looks like it will need a re-power soon but it is priced accordingly. Anyone done business with The Boat Shed in Georgetown SC?

    One big outboard!

Link to Boat Test article on new Honda 425. Looks about six feet tall and close to 1000 lbs. What a monster! Outboards have come a long way. http://www.boattest.com/view-news/5892_how-much-does-the-new-yamaha-425-cost

Why would this Tomcat have two punctures in hull?

-----"Don't be 'boatless' forever, you're not getting younger and life is short." I hear ya, Brother! We have hit a few wrinkles/delays in our plans but we are not JUST waiting as the search is part of the fun! We are researching boats and fun places to use them!

Why would this Tomcat have two punctures in hull?

It is the two holes in the bow hull that get me. Any ideas as to what happened there?

Why would this Tomcat have two punctures in hull?

And, why would anyone put their boat on sale in that condition? This one looks rough and the seller does not seem to be trying very hard. http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2006/C- ... vckFGgvx3g[/url]

    Transport boat without trailer?

Marc we will see you Friday, looking forward to it. And thanks for the towing info, we will keep that in mind.

    Transport boat without trailer?

----"just own a bigger more comfortable boat.---" That is hard to find with outboards. I don't do diesel or outdrives. Outboard cruisers are becoming more available these days but they are still rare, and new ones are pricey. Big new ones are very pricey. It is still hard to beat the economy...

    Transport boat without trailer?

Thanks to all for the replies. If I got a trailer I would have to rent a place to store it and then hire someone to tow it, as I don't have and otherwise don't need a suitable tow vehicle. That would probably still be cheaper if I transported often but for just occasional moves it seemed easier...

    Transport boat without trailer?

OK, more newbie questions here, but we are planning on not getting a trailer for whatever boat we buy, and most of the time that would fine. And if we wanted to move the boat to another cruising ground for a season I would be OK with paying a commercial boat transporter. But how does that work...

    it's popcorn time again

cattlejack my only experience is as a boat shopper but I've been looking hard at both and I see two big benefits of the RF-246. First is that you have sit-up headroom in the V-berth, which makes this a second room usable for more than crawling in and sleeping. Second, the large cockpit with...

    Clearing fowled props

Pretty much anything caught in the prop, Bob. Reading some inboard discussions where a dive is in order I was wondering if that was required with outboards, too. I was hoping to hear what you said, that most times one could stand on the swim step and reach the problem. Thanks.

    Clearing fowled props

Wondering if most times you can clear line wrapped around your prop by raising the outboard or do you have to get in the water?

    Felony animal cruelty

I remember as a child watching some movie where the South Pacific Islanders were killing sharks by boiling coconuts and then tossing them into the shark-infested water where the sharks would gobble them down, and then die from a cooked stomach. That seemed really cruel to me then and I wonder...
