Stayed along Knik River last night. Felt more like Texas than Alaska with the ATVs loud music etc - enjoyed our stay. On the way to Valdez with the huge Wrangell mountains in front of us. Four right in front of us that are 12000ft or more with one being a volcano. Crazy beautiful up here.

Thanks for the info on the water taxi. We actually left Homer and are now camping in Whittier. Saw two CD25 being towed out as we came into Whittier. Have seen more cdory's on this trip than even our gulf island trip last year.

Currently in Homer, AK watching all the fishing boats. Saw an orange striped C-Dory coming into the marina - didn't realize they made them orange, looked great.
