    Cantilever Cockpit Cover on CD-25

I'm pretty sure this is the c-brat that had the cantilevered bimini on a CD25- his photo album is empty but maybe he'll e-mail you a photo. larhayden Joined: 28 Dec 2012 Posts: 32 City/Region: Bennetts Point State or Province: SC C-Dory Year: 2007 C-Dory Model: 25 Cruiser Vessel Name...

    Cantilever Cockpit Cover on CD-25

We have one on our CD22 and love it (like you had on your CD22). We meet a gentlemen and his wife in Ketchikan (they were from SC or NC) with a CD25 with the same cantilevered cockpit cover as we had. In fact, he said that he had it modeled after ours (someone else had it done before us). He...

    AIS stand alone receiver

Prior to our trip up the Inside Passage, we purchased a Matsutec HP-33A 4.3" Color LCD Class B AIS Transponder Combo High GPS Navigator NEW off ebay -- $350 or so. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Matsutec-HP-33A ... SwdpxUWhTX We purchased a MDA-3 Sitex MDA-3 Metadata Splitter in order to use the VHF...

    Trailer bounce empty

We took our empty trailer 2000 miles from Blaine WA to Wisconsin and had no bounce. Not sure why but it was something that I was worried about and it never happened.

    Wallas exaust water leak

We had the same thing happening. Finally used some high temperature gasket sealant and that "seems" to have fixed it. I coated the inside of the flexible pipe up about 5 inches (trying to get in all the grooves) and slid the pipe back on. The leak was pretty constant when in bigger seas and...

    Beaching

We have our boat in Petersburg Alaska now, but we live in Wisconsin and cruised the Great Lakes for a number of years. We added a bow guard to our boat when it was new in order to feel more comfortable about beaching. We always go bow forward onto the beach and either throw the anchor on shore...

Dropped Prop! Anyone know correct pitch for 19" Angler/

We just ran twin Pro-pulse props 1200 miles (6 weeks of displacement cruising) up the inside passage without problems. Bought them as backups on Defender for $20 but found that our low end mpg was better.

Honda 50 EFI rough running at idle

We have Honda 50's EFI - we also have the service manual. Honda sends out a service newsletter. One of the newsletters recommended that the Service Tech try Chevron Techron before any dis-assembly of the motor. After reading that, we now use Chevron Techron once a year. I'd try that first.

    Twin 50s

We have twin Honda 50's and no we cannot get on plane. Not even close. Might be that we are always heavy loaded but I doubt it would be possible.

North Channel - Georgian Bay - Lake Huron

There really aren't very many marina's in the North Channel. If my memory is correct, west there is Blind River and Spanish, in the middle there is Little Current, and east there is Killarney. Outside of Little Current, the other marina's are on the outside edges of the cruising area.

North Channel - Georgian Bay - Lake Huron

Groceries can be purchased in Blind River. The water was always cold but we did swim with the kids. We always fueled at Little Current. With the CD22 we always put the bow on shore and tied of to a tree. The fun is our boats can go where others can't. Don't even look at the guide books just...

Misty Fjords - Behm Canal trip

On Saturday we left Ketchikan and planned on cruising the loop on the Behm Canal thru the Misty Fjords. Thought it would be best to go clockwise around the loop in order to have the NW winds behind us - turns out we always had the wind on our nose. Not that big of deal as most of the way the...

    Condensation Solution

This is our 6th year cruising our CD22. We've always had condensation on the walls and ceiling (in the mornings) no matter what the water temp, inside temp, outside temp, etc. We have cruised the Great Lakes, Erie Canal, North Channel, Ontario, PNW, etc. Never really a big issue but always...

    Made it to Ketchikan!

Nope, didn't see any boats that looked like the Race to Alaska boats. Very few boats for the most part. I'd say the "speed" helped deal with the weather quite well.

    Made it to Ketchikan!

Well, we made it from Vancouver to Ketchikan. Had a great cruise and were lucky not to have any weather days. The winds on Straits of Georgia, Johnstone Straits, and Queen Charlotte were very high during the time that we went thru the area, but we just waited for the right time of day & tides...

    British Columbia Shellfish license

This is probably a foolish question - but does both my wife and myself need a BC Tidal Fishing License if only one of us handles the crab pot, etc? We only have one crab trap and don't really want to pay $106 annual (or $32 5 day) fee for both of us. I'm assuming only one would need the...

Has anyone cruised the inside passage?

Many have done so and we plan on adding our name to the list this year. Here is a google map that we are using for planning. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?hl=en&authuser=0&mid=zzpPcmprS4ZY.k0Pnx8jXbWxo Do it! Also, we will be posting to our Facebook page via Inreach SE as we go...

    No Condensation,

We are going to try PreciousAire Cut to Fit w/natural fibers to put under the v-berth mattress. Found this suggestion on another boaters site. I'm sure on the way to Alaska this year - it'll give it a good test. On Amazon for $30 for six 20" x 30" pieces...
