Shrimp pot puller suggestions for a 22 ft cruiser.

We run a 22' Cruiser out of Whittier, and use the Ace Linehauler. We typically run our shrimp pots in 400 - 500', and never misses a beat. We have Scotty down rigger bases, and it mounts directly to them. It's also nice that it's a small unit, so it stows away nicely when you're not using it...

    Dual Batteries in Starboard Lazarette

We have two group 24's in our starboard lazarette, along with a voltage sensitive relay and a 50 amp breaker. It's a somewhat tight fit, but it works well. We also have the kicker on the port side, so I think you're right that it balances things out nicely. I'll step out to the boat later...

    radar arch

We're in the process of buying a new house, and it has a detached garage with a 10' overhead door. Our boat has a tall radar arch with a Garmin radome on top. At this point we're about 10'6" overall height. In the interest of getting the craft indoors, I've been giving some thought to...

    Moving to Electrics...

Thanks for the input. I run my anchor windlass off the start battery for the same reason, so it would make sense to do the same thing with the electric downriggers. Are you running a cranking battery for your house battery, or do you run 2 deep cycles?

    Moving to Electrics...

Sorry to resurrect a nearly 4 year old thread, but I've been giving some thought to this subject. I have 2 Scotty manual downriggers, and am giving some thought to going to Scotty electrics (1101's). I run 2 group 24 batteries - 1 house and 1 start. Would it work to run the Scotty electrics...

    Insurance

We have Progressive through USAA on our 22' Cruiser and on our drift boat. Went over to them a year ago, and we're happy with them so far.

    AGM batteries

It looks like we'll need to replace the batteries in our 22' cruiser next season, and we've been thinking of going with AGM's. Specifically, we're interested in the Lifeline group 24. We run one starting battery and one house battery with a voltage sensitive relay. Does anyone have any words...

    Wallas issue - carbon monoxide

This is exactly what my Wallas did yesterday. I also found that the voltage was very low, so I put in a new house battery. After that, I ran the stove for good hour with no problems. Hopefully that the end of the CO issue...

    Wallas issue - carbon monoxide

Over the past couple of weeks I've gotten the C Dory ready for spring. This morning I ran the Wallas and it resulted in the Carbon Monoxide detector sounding. The Wallas otherwise seems to be operating correctly. Has anyone seen out there had this same problem?

    transom straps

For the past couple of years we've been towing our 22' Cruiser with transom straps securing the boat to the trailer. Over the weekend I noticed that the straps seem to be causing some wear on the gelcoat where they contact the hull. Has anyone else seen this in wear pattern? We're thinking of...

source of KLEAN HEAT in Anchorage, AK

This is a bit off topic, but does anybody know the shelf-life of life of Klean Heat? I bought a few gallons at the Kenai HD last summer and I'm wondering how long it will be usable.

    wallas fuel

On Saturday we picked up our new 22' cruiser, and we're planning to run it this weekend. It has a wallas stove, which should come in handy. I'm sure this topic has been explored here before, but I thought I'd ask... is it o.k. to run Klean Heat as fuel for the wallas? The C Dory owner's...

    Plenty C-Dorys

Nice to hear that C Dorys are still popular in Juneau. We used to live there (now Kenai), and that's where we bought our 1st C Dory - a 22' Cruiser with Yamaha power. It lacked a wallas stove, which we sorely missed, but it was a great boat. Sold it a couple of years ago, and just bought a...
