New Ranger 25 in the slip

Pat, You must be psychic....for years i've been fooling with a lyric to a song to be titled "The Old Bateau" These boats, some still around, were the ''entry'' crabbing and fishing boat for young kids planning to be watermen. flat bottom big skiffs, heavily built..and they'd do about five...

New Ranger 25 in the slip

Nick, I have followed your "adventures" on Valkyrie on and off. We will look forward to seeing you at the gathering. Actually, i'm a little embarrassed to have such a "yacht"...have to scuff it up a bit... It does have a nice cockpit for banjo playing...and maybe i'll take up fishing! tom

New Ranger 25 in the slip

C Sick I loved my 22...had very mixed feelings about selling....I've owned eight boats...all but one wood. Only one had a marine head. Cedar buckets. And here is the key: except for the CD 22, all had top speeds of about 8kts. So, any worry about speed with the Ranger is not in my thinking...

This year the music will be just The Banjo Man...and if there are any musicians out there, bring along whatever you play...a tuba would be great. As Charlie says, lots of diversity in region and type of boat this year... "Boat tours" will , no doubt , be a feature. Don't forget: potluck on...

    R25 Air Conditioning

As a possible purchaser of a Ranger 25, it seems to me that doing all this stuff, sucking fuel, putting in loops, etc...reminds me of my teen years fooling with the engine of a 51 Ford...not what i would expect of a purchase well over 100 grand. Factory problem, right?

Minnow, We'll look forward to seeing you. Yesterday, returning from Hungary, Peggy and I drove by the Essington Marina, to right of 95 and spotted a C Dory in a slip. Is that you? If so, my brother, Jim, once kept a boat at that spot. He lived in the Essington area all of his adult life. tom mchugh
