SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH YOUR RANGER TUG TODAY ??

Mac, This really sounds like a great trip. Though i love being here on the Chesapeake, i sometimes long for your type of environment...wilder, more open..I don't trailer, so our Bay is it for me...of course it would take me a lifetime to get around it fully anyway. I am not mechanically or...

    Winterizing

Would anyone be willing to post a step by step procedure for winterizing the r 25. I plan to have my local mechanic do it, and he is good, but has not done a ranger 25. Simple language, and simple instructions...how to get to things...etc. I'm pretty good at running parties for C dory, playing...

    09/26 - 09/28 - NC Gathering

Hey, good luck with the gathering...rain or shine, with the people you have coming, it will be a success. Sometimes, sitting in the rain, with a cold something, great food awaiting, and a warm and dry C Dory bunk...can be better than anything. Here in Rock Hall we are going to get the big wind...

    diesel fill opening too small

I have the same problem, but at the various stops for fuel I have made, (total now of 16) all have been difficult. The vendors often tell me that this is not uncommon...many boats have this difficulty. I just do it slowly, with a sponge cloth to absorb any run off.,,something the factory ought...

    09/26 - 09/28 - NC Gathering

Re: Largest ever C Dory gathering. When we started the C Dory Chesapeake gathering, nearly five years ago, we heard that the largest gathering up to then was about 26 boats, somewhere on the left coast. Our maximum here , i think, was 30 or 31 boats, a couple of years ago. So, I think the NC...

    head odors

Though i religiously pump out (every week) and use the holding tank very little...almost entirely urine.....there is a decided odor which occurs when i flush the head...a gassy odor. I also fill the holding tank sometimes with fresh water and let it swish around for a day to clean sides of...

    Stern Thruster quit

My problem was barnacles...it was full of them. Complicated by the fact that they did not put proper paint on the assembly when it was installed. tom

    winter reading

    Stern Thruster quit

Two weeks ago my stern thruster on my R25 quit. In my case, we hauled her out and found the whole apparatus, cowling, tube, etc, encrusted with barnacles...so much so that the hole was almost closed up. Probably not your problem but worth checking.

    R25 Cummins vs yanmar

I have the 110 Yanmar.. Fuel economy is excellent, but we cruise at a very slow speed...1800 to 2200 ....between 1.8 and 2 gal per hour. Noise: i understand the Cummins is quieter..but the 110 certainly not overbearing..i have had four diesels. Longevity: I'm 70...i'm not worried My mechanic...

22 Cruiser For Sale and Erie Canal Trip

Fred, Pat and Mr. Grey, Hey, just because the boat is being sold does not excuse you three from certain duties: attending all future Chesapeake gatherings; playing spoons on all appropriate songs; and continuing to offer valuable advice on this site. Give Pat our best from all here at...

    R-25 Yanmar 110HP

I have only 90 hours on my 110. I have had several boats with diesels, Ford Lehman, Detroit.....so noise does not bother me...I don't really find the Yanmar offensive on noise anyway. Except for the rare need to get somewhere a bit faster, i cruise at 1800, about 6.5 kts....with very low fuel...

    06/06 - 06/08 - Annual Chesapeake Bay Gathering

Roger, We will welcome you back to the gathering next year, without a boat. And I am sure I am not the only one who will offer you "boat" hospitality when you are here. Next year should be very special...so plan on makingthe trip. tom (terraplane)

    09/26 - 09/28 - NC Gathering

Sure wish BANJO and I could make this trip..since i am not a trailer person, it would just take too much time away from my Mainstay music hall work... Any Rangers on the list? All of us from Rock Hall gathering at Lankford will be thinking of you... We are considering motto for next year, our...

    r25 voltage switch

On my panel there is a small switch, numbered 1,2,3, and i assume it has something to do with showing me the relative charge of the batteries? When i switch it to the various positions i see no noticeable change in the readings on the dc or ac panels. Am i making sense? terraplane

    C-Brat Tip Jar/Donations

I spent a day with friends on my Ranger 25...and it came up about the issue of membership on the C Brat site... After my discourse, (and they were all boat people) theiy said: how wonderful to have a site with such expertise, such humor, such wide variance of opinion...and it does not matter...

    R25 Issues

Just received confirmation of my donation. I went back to my original entry on this site...it enabled me to feel ok about purchasing my 22, and i see no difference in the support i get from my questions about my R 25...i just hope that Pat Anderson and Byrdman don't set up a donation site...i...

    R25 Issues

It is precisely Henry's input on the drainage of the AC unit, the specific directions to the places on the boat, etc....that make this site so invaluable. I went back to my contribution and "upped" it just for this bit of detail. If you called service on this it would have cost me at least...
