    AM-FM-MP3 Stereo

If hi-fidelity is what you're after, go for a component speaker system. Mount the small tweeters up high in front, and the woofers facing forward behind your knees in the cabinet work. I used the Infinity Reference series, from Crutchfield, and these things really jam!

    09/10/05 - Erie Canal

One event in that neck of the woods is the annual Tug Boat Roundup in Waterford NY, which is at the confluence of the Hudson River and the Erie and Champlain Canals. It is usually the first weekend after labor day, but their website has it as "to be announced". http://www.tugboatroundup.com/...

Fresh Water Tank Level on 25?

All of the literature I've seen lists the water tank on the 25 at 20 gallons. The holding tank is listed at 24 gallons. The additional 6 gallons in the water heater isn't usable, since when the 20 is used up, there isn't anything left to push out the 6 gallons of hot. That being said, 20...

    Wastewater Disposal

Many boat ramps and parks in my area have porta-johns at them. I have always assumed that it was ok to dump in them, (the porta-potties that is) but it might not be accepted practice.

Prop suggestions for 150 HP on the CD 25

Thanks for the input. More on the vibration- it wasn't horrible, but it's just that this motor is so smooth everywhere else, it seemed like it could be improved on. I spoke with the national service rep for Honda at the New York boat show this winter, and described the problem. He thought that...

Prop suggestions for 150 HP on the CD 25

Mine came with a 14 X 19 three blade stainless. Clearly overpropped. The BF150s that I have seen have a tendency to vibrate in gear at idle speeds, then smooth out a couple hundred RPMs higher. I tried a 15 X 15 four blade stainless, and got great performance in the midrange and top end, but in...

Wiring Power to Ray C-80 system

I too was told that the wallas was wired direct to the battery, but that was not in fact the case with my boat. You might want to double check yours. Mine is fed from the auxilliary panel and I just make sure that the unit has cooled all the way down and shut off before I shut off the house...

Wiring Power to Ray C-80 system

Sorry to break the news to you, but I don't think there is any way to use the factory wiring and have a properly done job. This winter I completely re-wired the DC distribution system on my one year old boat. Some of my concerns were: The battery cables were automotive grade cable, poorly...

    Considering a new C-Dory

I'm 6'4" and don't have a problem with the shower. Just sit down and do your thing. Drying off is another thing. We have curtains all around, so I just dry off and dress in the cabin. Since this is just a couples boat, the modesty concerns don't bother me. If you're traveling with kids, this...

    Non-factory Swimstep

On my 25, the factory swim step was mounted several inches higher than it needed to be to clear the tabs. This, combined with it only being a 2 step model, put the lowest step about 6" in the water- almost useless. The dealer was kind enough to replace it with a 3 step, and now it kinda works.

    Considering a new C-Dory

The unsinkability issue is also one that I have wondered about. I recall a previous thread about this, but I don't remember if it was determined which C-Dorys, other than those mandated, are positively bouyant when swamped. In Passagemaker magazine, there was a recent discussion about the...
