    Buying a new Yamaha outboard??

I'm planning on getting a new 75hp Yamaha 4stroke this weekend. There offering a new old stock 2003 for 6900 with install and accessories. Seems like a good $$. What do you guys think about the new 05. Is it worth the extra 1000.00 for the EFI. I hate carbs but really like the discounted...

    Home made Floor boards

Thats heavier than I expected. I would love to see what they look like underneath. Dogon..any chance? By the way in your signature you are using HTML code. Did you get the Admin here to turn it on for you? OR did they just give you the option to "attach files"?

    Home made Floor boards

Each section weighs about 35 pounds. No Problem at all lifting them out to clean or whatever. As for going 1/2" I would say the thicker the better. You may be able to go 1/2" if you use a hardwood ply like maple or birch, maybe marine plywood. I went cheap and got pine economy grade. I...

    Home made Floor boards

I believe it is 7/8" thick. It feels pretty solid and I weigh about 190. Yes there is some unsupported parts twords the gunnels but it is so close to the flooring that the thickness of the plywood compensates for it. I got the idea for the vinyl from some floorboards I saw for an aluminum...

    Home made Floor boards

I didn't like the puddles that would pool up in the cockpit so I made some floorboards to raise it up about an 1.5". The puddles would get especially bad when it would rain. Also I added a "Puddle Sucker" on the bulk head. This should solve the problem completely. Now I can pump out water at...

  9. (catdogcat) Glued vinyl on with 3M adhesive spray (77) then stapled the edges to the bottom using stainless staples. I'm still deciding whether to water treat the bottom or to fiberglass it. Will probobly do both.

    07/02 - 07/03, Naked Island, Alaska

There actually was a safety line, it just wasn't attached. This was the first time using the anchor since I've purchased the boat. Live and learn I guess. I will definitely be incorporating one into the next one. I was going to make it out of galvanized sheet metal but have decided to make...

    Looking for Anchor feed cover

Went to throw my anchor out last weekend and noticed that the stainless cover that goes over the feed to the anchor locker was stuck on pretty good. Took out my Leatherman to pop it off and ended up popping it off right into the sea. Dangit!! :cry Thats a really funny feeling watching...

    Dogon long trip

Cool pics!! I can't imagine driving both ways, must have made for a long trip. Great looking boat. I love the boat armor that you put on. I just had a sheen of ice to protect mine. It was ugly and brown but it did the job. Glad to hear you made it back with no mishaps..Man your lucky!
