Venture 23 data published on C-dory website

Are you sure that wasn't the water heater under the dinette seat? Maybe CD changed the tank for money reasons? Or to save labor? The 30 gallon tank under the V berth was a great idea. It saved space in the cabin and moved weight forward for a better ride and better fuel economy. Bill

Venture 23 data published on C-dory website

For anyone interested the old incarnation of the 26 Venture had two 55 gallon gas tanks for a total of 110 gallons. I was told that it got "almost" the same fuel economy as the 23 Venture. I'm guessing that would mean 3.25-3.5 smpg in the real world with a 135 or 150 OB. Another strange spec...

Venture 23 data published on C-dory website

Hi all, I've had a 23' Venture (made by CC) for about a year and a half and love it. When I first took it out with full fuel and water, anchor, vests, chairs, and two people it topped out at 34 smph and cruised at 4500 at 23 smph. That is with a Yamaha 90. Now that I have added all that is...

    C-Voyager's Saddle Fuel Tanks

Very nice looking construction and install on the tanks. They look very professional and add fuel capacity without losing usable space. How much do they hold? Bill

    Water Tank Level Gauge

Anyone that is interested in the Snake River water meter should check out this link. http://www.ferriellosales.com/page5.html There meters use the same technology with what I think is a better looking display. They also have an empty alarm which is nice. I talked to the owner on the phone...

    CD22' 90hp or 2 40hp motors for fuel efficiency?

Westward, that is probably the best comparison of twins to main and kicker I have ever read. You made many good points. When I was trying to decide between twins or main w/kicker I figured that with either set up a fuel problem would make me dead in the water. But if I hit something in the...

    Boaters World Store Credit

I believe you were misinformed. Boaters World's Captains Club usually gives you $12 in store credit for every $300 you spend. When you buy a new boat they triple that on most items to $36 for every $300 you spend. bill

From E.Q. - Possible status change

Also gone off the list is TradeWind Inflatables. TradeWind was having problems with the quality of boats they were getting from C-Dory. So C-Dory told them to repair them and they would be reimbursed under warranty. Time came for C-Dory to pay and for some reason they decided that they didn't...

    787 Rollout

Kevlacat makes cats using carbon fiber. They are very light and fuel efficient. Unfortunately the ones made here in the US have had a lot of construction problems. They have been making them in Australia for many years and are known for their high quality there. You can check out their...

    C Dory 25 transom

Nicely said Iggy. These manufacturing errors could cost someone their life if the transom have gave way at the wrong time. It is a major safety concern that should be addressed by the factory. If their is any doubt about the construction of transoms during a certain period C-Dory should offer...

    C Dory 25 transom

Bob, sorry to hear about the problems on your 25. You would think that by hull #30 they would know how to properly make a transom. Hopefully this poor construction is an isolated issue and more and more C-Dory owners won't start discovering the same problems. One question for you. When you...

    outside helms station add on

Just an idea here guys. What some people have done on other boats is to buy a wireless remote for their autopilot and to then add a throttle control some were in the cockpit. This is probably a lot cheaper and takes up less room. Bill

    Diesel outboards

About a year ago, when I was researching equipment for my boat, I also looked into the Yanmar diesel outboards. I was told that they weren't available in the US. It is very interesting that they now are available. Twin 37HP diesel outboards on a 22 would be a great setup. The only problem...

    Twin 50s vs. Twin 60s for 22' C-Dory

Twin 50's should be plenty of power. They should top out at about 30 knots. If you want more power you could get twin Yamaha 60's which weigh less than the Suzuki 50's. Lots of options out there. Bill

My New Inflatable Needs a Motor, But Which One ?

How fast do you guys think the 3.5HP 4 stroke would push a 22CD? Is it possible to use it as a kicker and tender motor? Bill

    Yacht Tenders

Hi all, I bought an LT-2 last week and so far I'm very pleased with it. It appears to be made very well. It has plenty of room for two people and I'd say fine for 4 people to row short distances. Being made of Hypalone it should last a very long time. Best of all it fits perfectly on top of...
