    Single Axle Trailers

Here in sunny california our freeways are so bad that towing with a single axel is just painfully bumpy for both the tow rig and boat, it can be done but a dual axel heavy trailer rides so much nicer :D

    Let's talk 23 Ventures

The beam for the different models is critical: 1. CD22 = 7’8” beam, reason why I moved up to the CD25 2. CD23 = 8’ beam, learned something new its larger than the CD 22 3. CD25 = 8’6” beam - largest beam for towing, does not need a wide load sign when towing.

    Maiden voyage

Congratulations on your boat purchase. Adding: 1. trim tabs 2. chain in the bow locker to balance the bow to stern weight 3. permatrim will make your CD22 run better in heavy choppy seas..... each of these changes will be like a totally different boat, have fun and enjoy!

    Handheld VHFs with GPS/DSC

Harvey, I agree with all your comments. I would assume that if you tried calling a very large vessel (Cargo ship ect) they should be capable and able to respond...but who knows if anyone is on watch at the time your trying to call. I'll share a story & try & make it short & to the point, pls...

    Handheld VHFs with GPS/DSC

I have been waiting for many years for a handheld VHF radio to get the added AIS feature. I will be purchasing the new DSC+GPS+AIS ICOM M94D VHF Marine Radio, I think this is a real game changer for added safety. Its not perfect but you would be much happier in the water floating with a VHF...

    iPad, GPS and DC outlet

GPS reception will be poor if the antenna is close to a magnetic field, always make certain you keep other electronic device away from each other else they may cause coupling and poor reception issues...if they are getting hot then they are cranking up the power to find a connection this means...

Best MPG Vehicle that can tow 5k lbs.(For CD22)

I would suggest you rent a highlander the exact model you plan to buy and or a few other vehicles you have in mind and tow your 22 C-Dory on a 100 mile test run. See whats the actual MPG you get before purchasing, that way you can make a better decision. For my next tow vehicle, that is exactly...
