CD 22 Cruiser Transom Seat Options

Hi Steve, Sorry about the confusion. Those photos are of '95 25 footer I spotted down in the Kenai Peninsula last week. I wish it were mine! I haven't got any photos of C-Farer in the album yet. It looks like an average older Angler at this point. Improvements (restoration) are in the works. Pat

CD 22 Cruiser Transom Seat Options

Hi Fred, Your storage and teak bench sound like a great project. Any chance of seeing a few pics. I'm thinking of something similar for C-Farer. Thanks, Pat

    Hard Top

Mike, Thanks for the album. I put two views of the Morning Dory in it. They also have a Wallas stove with a built-in fan that the owner said keeps the cabin nice and warm without condensation building up. Pat

    Hard Top

We were in Soldotna last week and spotted a '95 25 footer (hull #5) with a nice looking hardtop. It's called the "Morning Dory." The owner says he had to convince (Mark?) Toland to put it on. Mark(?) didn't want to spoil the esthetics of his design but I guess he gave in when the owner told him...

    Dogon long trip

Hi Doug, I'ver been meaning to ask you: where do you tie up in Hope for a few days during the pink salmon derby? We'll probably bring C-Farer down in late July to fish the inlet, explore the east side and maybe spend a few days on Kalgin Island. I really like Hope and the atmosphere there...

    Dogon long trip

Welcome home, Dan, Those great photos show that you had a beautiful ride both ways on the Alaska Highway. Anyone who hasn't driven that route is missing a lifetime experience with the panoramas and varied wildlife on view. That's too bad about the rock chips on your windshield. When we brought...

    07/02 - 07/03, Naked Island, Alaska

Re: shrimp pots at Naked Island: I have a buddy who doesn't like to fish that area because it has a pretty rough bottom. He says he hangs up quite a bit around there. Now, that's not shrimping, but since he is a shrimper, too, I'm guessing that he won't drop pots there for the same reasons. ?? Pat

    Wanted - Cockpit Canvas Details

I've been exchanging e-mails with Dave. He needed a few snapshots of the transom on my old angler before working up a quote. The quote is in progress now. I'll be able to give you some numbers when we decide on the final package. Pat

    07/02 - 07/03, Naked Island, Alaska

Dan, Please pencil us in for the trip, too. We have a tentative trip scheduled to sail out of Haines, but it's still pretty much up in the air. This sounds like a great way to meet some more of the PWS regulars. Pat

    Wanted - Cockpit Canvas Details

Wow.. ask and ye shall receive.. the Fairbanks Flotilla responds Jon, Thanks for the information. I've been studying your photos over the last few months. That's the inspiration for getting my cockpit protected, too. I'll certainly give King a call to check about prices. Dan, I talked to...

    Wanted - Cockpit Canvas Details

Hi Dan, I'm planning to get a camper back for my classic 22' angler, too. Have you priced the canvas and tent shop here in Fairbanks for installation ? I sure would appreciate any nformation you get from King on installation, etc. Thanks, Pat

    winter projects

The first day of retirement starts on January 1. I'm planning to remove and refinish/restore all the outside wood. I'd like to take the paint off the bulkhead and get it back to the nice finish it started out with. There are good photos and suggestions in other threads about this. After that, we...

    CD Add Ons

What a great thread! The Newport stove is carried by "Fisheries Supply" in two models and at lower prices than Dickenson. I haven't done business with these folks but have heard that they are reliable. Pat

    Anyone towing with Toyota Highlander?

Hi Pete, We have a Highlander. (Great rig, isn't it?) We just towed our 22' angler 650 miles from Haines AK to Fairbanks. We used the 1/2 ton Dodge pick-up and I'm glad we did. There are about 300 miles of rough road on the Alaska Highway that would have kept us just creeping along at about 20...

Start of a new fishing season

I know I'll have to wait until next spring, but does anyone have information on good razor clam beaches in the Prince William Sound? YUM! Pat

22 Classic Angler - Good deal?

Hi, Just a note to say thanks again to everyone who chimed in about this "mature" 22 footer. I flew to Juneau yesterday to meet the boat. Tom and I took it out for a couple of hours in the famous Juneau chop. What a treat!. We ran it at about 12kts through the chop. It cruised near 21-23 at...

    UP orDown

Just wondering... what are the chances that the stress from traveling with the engines in the up position takes awhile, say 4 or 5 years, to show up as little cracks in the transom? Is this what those things called "transom savers" are used for? Pat

22 Classic Angler - Good deal?

Hi en_pissant, I'll look up the El Sombrero for sure. Thanks for the advice. We'll probably boat over to Douglas Island to beach the boat just to see how easy it is to refloat it. (Gotta get prepared for them clam digs.) We're surrounded by ducks right now here in Fairbanks. I don't remember...

Need right size kicker motor for 22' C-dory

Hi New Guy, I was hoping I'd get a response to this one. When I bring back the 22' Angler, I will have three Suzuki outboards here in Fairbanks. The closest dealer is about 350 miles away! You may be right about it being an Alaska thing, though. We are a small market. It would be great if...

Need right size kicker motor for 22' C-dory

About Suzuki's: the boat shop in Fairbanks won't work on them. In fact no boat dealer in town will service them because, as they say, service support is poor. They had a hard time getting parts and tech info from Suzuki. I've been told that Suzuki makes a great outboard, though. The jet that I...
