Are there composting toilets that don't require 12 volt power? I have a cabin in the woods and the tall trees don't let enough sunlight through to run a solar panel for fan power. If you know of a composting toilet that works without power I would love to know the brand and model.
Thanks,
Forrest
I too have an 8 horse Yamaha on an 1800 Lund Fisherman (18'). I can troll slow enough to catch Walleye at .6 MPH. It's the quietest trolling motor that I've ever been around too. It's a brand new motor and it will absolutely putt along at a very low RPM. I just replaced my old 5 HP Honda kicker...
I fish out of Westport where ocean conditions favor the Grady Whites, Sea Sports and Skagit Orcas of the world. This year I will be smiling as I pull up to the hot spot using less than half the fuel that they use to get there.
Honda motors do have a corrosion problem around the thermostats due to three dissimilar metals in close proximity. The t'stat is made of copper and stainless while being held in place by an aluminum casting. It is going to corrode there and there is nothing you can do about it other than remove...
I have often wondered how "sidescan" works when it has to look through a outboard motor shaft or the outdrive of an inboard. I've asked that question of factory reps in the Sportsmen Show seminars and have never received an adequate explanation. One rep stated that it looks a little forward. I...
You can see a rear helm on a Cape Cruiser 26 in my pics. Gene Sterner put the helm and steering controls on when he built the boat. Les Lampman set up the motors and throttle control. The main motor is controlled on the front helm only. The kicker is controlled from the rear helm only.
That's true Paul, for a given power level. The power level is changed when you want to go faster. It isn't as simple as volts x amps = watts. And with that I'm done because I don't remember poop about electricity.
The major reason is the higher the voltage supplied, the faster a DC motor turns. In AC motors the frequency determines speed and raising the voltage lowers the wire size for a given motor.
Thataway,
I sincerely hope your right but be aware that the field from 140 volts DC at WOT is quite a bit larger than the 12-24 volts in electric trolling motors.
Before you invest in any electric outboards you probably should wait awhile to see what type of corrosion and electrolysis that occurs on the rest of the boat of someone who has installed one. Electric motors have a quite strong electric field around them. Not sure how that will affect other...
Shove a small finish nail along the side the ball check valve in the kicker motor supply hose. Lift the end of the hose above the height of the fuel tank. Gently pump primer bulb until hose is completely full and fuel is seeping out end of hose. Drop hose into a fuel can and a siphon will start...
