    05/20 - 05/23 - Carolina Loop

At this time my wife and i are planning to join the group for the trip. We will trailer to Centerville Waterway Marina on Thurs. 5/19, spend the night there and be ready for Friday departure. Sounds like a great trip and a first of this type for us. As the time gets closer I am sure I will have...

    Chattanooga Cruising

Rob, I was there for several days in Oct. 2009, there was no crowd at that time so we just docked and walked to the office and paid dockage. Oh, it is Ross' Landing Park and thier number is on the web. A great place to dock since you just walk up the steps, cross the street and you are on the...

Tennessee River Adventure March or April 2011

Bill, glad you and Brenda will be going straight up the Tenn. instead of turning right down the Tenn.-Tom. this trip. It was a pleasure to meet you at Bobby's Fishcamp a few months back. I was headed up the Tenn.-Tom. to deliver a 40' sailboat to a friend. As stated then, I live about mile 285...

Looking for a good cookbook for fish.

Marc, This is a small world, we love The Hot and Hot Fish Club. Come to visit your son and we can drive down to Birmingham. Notice you have another Classic on your lot. Hope things are looking up for you and we see a turn around soon. It has been chilly here but the honda 2000 with a ceramic...

Very Bad Boating Incident in Delray Beach, FL

Amanda, The blowers are installed in boats with gas tanks located in closed areas such as the bilge on inboards. Fumes can build up there and a spark will ignite the fumes. Ron

    Honda High Idle Lever

I agree with Tom "YIKES". For me ( how it is intended to work) is increase the idle speed when lifted. I can live with the key chain foam to hold it up. Would miss too much cruising to try to reassemble all those parts. Ha! Ron

    05/20 - 05/23 - Carolina Loop

As you start to set dates etc., please keep the site posted because this is the type trip that I would love to trailer to and see a different area. Being retired, I can fit to about any timing as long as something major is not on the plan already. Shall start a search to see exactly where you...

    Honda High Idle Lever

Have the same issue on my BF90 and started to take it apart but as I reached to turn the key off I noticed that the foam float on my key chain swings up perfectly to hold the lever up. Turns out it is just as easy to push the float out as it would be to push the lever down. Made a lot more sense...

Marinaut- efficient use of interior space

This opening on my '85 Classic is one of my favorite points of the old design. No removal was required and it is easy to enter and exit the V-Berth. Album shows area.

    Marinaut?

An interesting point about bugs and design changes on a new boat, it was my impression that a lot of thought and design on the Marinaut was to fix or improve points that had been addressed with the C-Dory family and ownership. If I was ready to get rid of my '85 Classic I would jump on a new...

    Right of way!

Having spent the last 10 days motoring up the Tenn-Tom waterway on a 40' sailboat, I found that most of my attention was spent making sure I was out of the way than deciding the right of way. Going upstream it was best to take the inside of the turns since the barges needed most of the outside...

Tombigbee Grand Adventure Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Bill, Maybe we will meet on the Tenn-Tom. I shall be headed to Mobile on 9/21/10 with a friend to bring a 40' Bayfield Ketch back up the Tenn-Tom to my subdivision marine at the mouth of the Elk river (Tenn. river M.M. 285). We shall be on the Tenn-Tom about 10 days and I shall keep my eyes...

    Poor Handling

My first post to you stated that these b0ats with permitrim are very sensitive to motor trim. I have the same cavitation and have not checked the distance and angle you mentioned but have found that I trim up until I get the first indication of cavitation and then trim down slightly and it is in...

    Poor Handling

Agree with all other comments, and also found that the engine trim made a great difference in feel of stability. More so than any other boat I had ever had. Ron

    Gulf coast oil spill

Having enjoyed the bayous and marshes of La. on my airboat, the offshore fishing of Al. and the beaches of Fl., I hope by signing up to volunteer I can repay a little to save the nature for others. If at all possible, I encourage others to join in. Ron

    Value? '83 - 22' Classic Angler

If you have had no water intrusion in the transom area that price sounds about right to me. My '85 Classic purchased last year was in that range with a similar engine and I have no regrets since they are great boats. A boat of that age has just had a long time for water intrusion if holes were...

    C-Dory vs Ranger 21EC

Pat, A couple of thoughts overlooked on the first post. 1) The Tugnuts site has a number of owners that can be of great help on the open water question. I feel sure the answer is yes. 2) If you are still in Fla. you should drive up to see Wefings in East Point, Fl. Marc is both a Ranger and...
