    Remounting radar display unit

Don't know if this will work for you but I started a while back mounting things with industrial sticky back velcro if I wasn't sure if I'd like the location. The stuff holds so good in some cases it became permenant mounting hardware. I even mounted my helm seat with it plus compass, rear view...

    Anchoring-Out 'Back East

In recent years I've cruised from Oriental NC to Fort Meyers FL and most of the Saint Johns. I've found prices to vary from $60 per night to free. I haven't been to the Keys in many years but they seem to be really high from reports. I think the average in my travels would probably be around...

    battery weight

I'd definately go with the AGM's for the 16, mounted under the passenger seat they are hard to access for checking fluid level. I particuarly like the Sears AGM's they are expensive and some argue they are twice as much as lead acid but it you figure the cost difference over a three year span...

    Window Air Conditioner questions

Jim I've got the Artic King and it cools fine in my 22. I store it in the v-berth in front of the helm. In my album in modifications section are pictures of it in the window and what I use to support it. I just stuff towels around it but some use black pipe insulation.

    Just an opinion...

I guess what made the estimate seem high to me is you can buy a Garelick seat that looks just like the factory seat for $70 or the Garelick high back seat for $120. Of course these are probably made in China with slave labor.

    Just an opinion...

I took my factory helm seat to a local upholstery shop today and got a price on replacing the bottom foam with a better grade and they gave me a price of $145 which I thought was rediculous. I know foam is expensive especially being a petroleum product but I thought this was crazy.

    boat lift

I've used an overhead boat lift for many years but mine is a sling lift so I can't offer any advice on bunks but I'd like to reinterate what Mike said. Lifts are great but it's very easy to get a finger or hand caught in a pulley while raising or lowering your boat. I've got a remote control for...

    Interesting question - C-Dory Warranty

It will be really interesting to see how this plays out. I'm two years into my hull warranty on my 22 but as far as warranty goes little things that have come up (which were few) I have fixed myself. My dealer is Wefing and Marc but they are 250 miles away so unless I had something really...

    Just an opinion...

Neat topic Jim. I love my C-Dory but agree as delivered it really wasn't very comfortable as far as seating. I modified my helm seat several times and still haven't found a perfect fit but like Charlie with auto pilot and a spinner knob I find my self navigating while standing a lot. Currently I...

    09/25 - 09/27 - North Carolina Gathering

Hi Tracy I don't know if I will make it up again this year but if so pitching in for food and what ever would be a good thing. I was surprised to find that Mobile East picked up the tab for everything last year. I think Whittaker Pointe is a really nice place also and reasonably priced.

How much usable fuel in 25 gal tanks

The tanks in my 2007 22 are actually 23 gallon tanks. I think the c-dory brochure said 25 but if you look on the side of the tank it says 23 gallon. I too have what appears to be about 3 gallons left when operating at cruising speed but at displacement speed you can get it down to about 1 1/2...

    Overall length?

My 22 is 25' OL from the back of the motor to the tip of the anchor so I would guess a 25 would be 28' OL.

New Owner with even more questions.

When I had a 16 I used a cooler to balance the weight shifting it from side to side as needed. As far as the high pitch whine you describe I'd probably get someone else to operate the boat while you try to isolate the noise. Probably nothing to worry about. As too the bilge pump typically they...

    Solar charger and motor fins

The CO2 detector has a low voltage alarm and thats probably what you are hearing. I'd check the voltage of your batteries with a volt meter you may have a problem if the voltage has fallen to low the batteries may not recharge.

Seeking advice - Battery & Racor filter in starboard laz

I've got two group 24's in my port lazarette and my start battery a group 24 in the starboard laz. I don't think 2 group 27's will fit in the port laz the 24's just barely fit.
