    Bilge Pump

Seems I read somewhere on the forum about wether the area where the bilge pump is mounted in a 25 CD, was solid fiberglass or cored. My pump froze up on my last outing and while changing it out, I discovered that the area is cored. The four SS screws holding the base down were not sealed and...

    Shrimp's Galore!

Jazzmanic, You need chain to counter act the weight of your anchor as its pulled up thru the ring. If you don't have enough chain the anchor will go back down when you slack off. Does this make sense??

    CD25

That's the prop I'm currently running only in aluminum. I would like to go to a stainless prop due to the kelp and debris in the water. I haven't been able to find a dealer close by that stocks anything. They have to be ordered in. I've got stainless props lying around from previous motors that...

    CD25

Has anyone come up with a stainless prop that works for a CD25 with a 150 honda? I've searched all the archives. There's been a lot of experimenting, but haven't found where someone has said that "this is the prop". Thanks

    Kicker size/shaft length/accessories???

Jack, I use a Honda 9.9 hi thrust with four bladed prop and it works just fine for trolling. I would guess you would need a 25" shaft. I also would recommend a tie-bar between your kicker and main for steering from the cabin on those rainy days. Get a kicker with a tiller arm for steering on...

    Kendall propane stove

Jack, Try and find propane bottles for your stove. My experience with different butane stoves is they don't work very well up here in spring or fall.

    Kicker Brackets

Don't know about the difference, but if you're going to mount a kicker on a 25 I would look at the Mini-Jacker. It will set your kicker back enough to clear your trim tabs and still allow you to tie to your main for steering.

    Easy Steering Conversion??

Tom, Hydraulic steering is nice, but expensive. If I thought I might sell the boat I would install a NFB steering system. If you do decide to install a hydraulic system go with the Bay Star since you are under 150hp.

    Trailer bunkboard carpeting

Short aluminum or galvanized roofing nails with the large round head nailed to the bottom and sides helps a lot.

    A Few Odd Balls

My 25 fits in the garage which has a 10 high by 12 wide door. For motor support do a search on google for my-wedge. I've used them for years. Excellant for motor support. Yamaha is now marketing their own and recommends it for their outboards.

    Camperback

Planning on taking boat down in a couple days to get a camperback installed. Before I do, I have a couple questions for you that have them. 1. Do they fold up out of the way for fishing? 2. I assume they can't be trailered in the up position? 3. What type fastners are used? Regular snaps or...

    Thru Hull

Well with some good advice from Thataway and some elbow grease I've pulled the thru-hull, used a dremel to remove some core, filled hole with epoxy and re-drilled same. There were four SS screws holding the intake strainer on. I drilled these out and potted them also. Don't think I'll put the...

    Thru Hull

I've spent several hours this winter pulling screws and potting them back in as well as doing some tabbing. Some of the screws I pulled didn't even have sealant on them. (Fresh water Pump hold down screws).Fortunately I haven't found any wet core. I just finished doing the trim tabs and there...

    Hull

I also had lots of problems with this boat. Most of it due to Dealer set-up. (Not knowing what the heck they were doing). I still have to get around to re-wiring my batteries. Kind of dis-heartening to pay the price for these boats then spend hours sealing them up, which should have been done...

    Hull

One of my winter projects is to remove all screws that penetrate the hull and pot them. I was wondering about the trim tabs as they have several screws attaching them to the hull. Should these be removed and potted? Thanks.....
