    Hey RedFox + CC!

I'm finding this thread very interesting. Doesn't C-Dory have a lawsuit going on with Cape Cruiser because there was a no competition clause in the original sale? Cape Cruiser says they are so different and yet an expert (I consider RedFox an expert) claims that they are so alike that they...

I just ordered a Cape Cruiser

Competition is good and there is no doubt that Cape Cruiser is direct competition to C-dory. It's the old Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge thing. Any reasonable person would expect some sparks to fly if some Ford boys started posting on the Chevy or Dodge websites, and vice versa. It would get nasty...

I'm thinkin ol' Tyboo Mike might just spontaneously combust if we try to drag him into his workplace on the only weekend he's had off in about 6 months. :)

LOL!! That's a classic. The reservations are already made with the harbormaster just like last year. She's expecting about 20 boats. We might be rafting boats. If the fishing season closes early I expect the harbor to thin out.

Hey Guys, the local Chamber of Commerce just called and said they heard of our gathering and is offering us the maiden use of the new/old trolley car that they have just put together. This is an old San Francisco trolley that has been refurbished and mounted on a truck chassis to be used as a...

    Cruising Clifton and Prairie Channels

Don & Dee I was hoping you'd tell us about your trip down the inside channels, thanks. I hope to make that run soon, maybe when the Cathlamet gig is happening the fishing will be closed down and it'll be our time. Lifejackets on a lab? Isn't that kind of like putting a raincoat on a fish...

Chuckpacific, do you hug the Oregon side all the way down, or do you go north of any of the islands?

Hi guys! It's way early yet, I won't even start fishing till after next week. From what I hear the outlook is not going to be good for them this year. We've still got water running in the Columbia though, that's all we need to make a c-dory owner happy.

Hi flapbreaker, Pat Anderson has the right of it, just sign up and show up. Cathlamet is a good place to know if you fish or cruise on the Columbia River. There is a lot of info on the past 2004 and 2005 Cathlamet gatherings. http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t=1369 and...

hey you northerners, whats with the funny reels

My vast experience with a mooching reel totals one weekend fishing. Back in the 80's a friend asked me to go fishing up on Puget Sound. He told me we were going to mooch for blackmouth and to bring my favorite steelhead rod. I brought a 9 ft. Lamiglass rod mounted with a Shimano BMT 251...

hey you northerners, whats with the funny reels

When mooching in 150-200 ft. of water you are going to have a lot of slack line out in the water. When you feel a fish hit your bait you need to reel down quickly to take up the slack and THEN set the hook. Mooching reels will reel in faster than baitcasting reels.... and they're just plain...
