    2004 25' C-Dory Cruiser for sale Honda 135hp

This is the second undervalued CD25 I have seen recently here on the east coast. Doesn't make sense. They were both offered by new members. If something is too good to be true, maybe it isn't. Comments?

    Problem with Wiper Coverage

Last spring I crossed south to north across LI Sound on my CD25 during a nor'easter with the wind out of the east at steady 35kts and higher gusts. Typical 8-10ft steep square waves with a short period on the starboard beam. Continual wind whipped spray every few moments as the boat rose to a...

leaking at step edge of potti area

I also had this problem. Water pudling on the floor aft when underway. It took forever to figure out what was happening since the water only showed up at the cabin door step after migrating under the cabinetry on the port side from the bow. I thought it was a through hull or bilge pump hose at...

    sprint 600 problem

My factory installed windlass has a resetable circuit breaker on the forward side of the galley bulkead, just to the right side and behind of the helm seat. If I bring up the windlass too enthusiasticaly and overload it, I pop the breaker. It's an easy reset once you realize it and figure out...

    Should of gotten a Bayliner?

I know what it is: more of those biting bugs that you guys have swimming around up in Puget Sound. These must be the invisible fiberglass eating variety that live in the Great Lakes.. I recall asking about what type of resin was used when I bought my boat and was told the 22's at that time were...

    Broadband wireless...

I recently upgraded my Thinkpad laptop since one of my sons needed a laptop also. I gave him my 6 month old one and got a spiffier widescreen Thinkpad z60m for myself (and the boat). It has the built in Broadband wireless card. Since I previously had the service through a PCMCIA card Verizon...

    Floscan

I mounted two small round black intermittent (small horn) button switches on either side of the gage, level horizontally to each other and the bottom of the gage. I got them at Boatersworld and only required a drillbit and drill (1/2"? or 5/8"?) the left one toggles between mpg and gph, the...

    Floscan

Not wanting to make another hole and add to the clutter of wires on the back side of the steering bulkhead, I took the Floscan approach that replaced the Honda analog tachometer and interfaced it to recieve nmea data from my Garmin chartplotter. I too get the MPG, GPH, Gallons used right by the...

    Handling a Large Wave

I hope you guys don’t mind if an easterner chimes in. I have been tracking my son Mike who is working on the Polar Adventure as a cadet observer, a just shy of 900ft tanker transporting crude between Valdez and the west coast. In doing so I am getting a new perspective on what it is like today...

    C-Dory Sightings

My son Mike (20yrs) sent me a picture of the CD25 Lee Ann docked in Valdez, AK. Mike is on board the tanker Polar Adventure as of yesterday 5/16 as cadet observer (slave laborer, gofer, etc) and will be on board for 3 months while the Polar Adventure transports crude oil between Valdez and...

Boating less due to fuel prices?

After reading Dog on Dan's intro to this topic I must say that the fossil fuel theory and the economics related to it is the biggest scam. Does anyone know how to convert my Floscan fuel monitor so it can read dinosaurs per hour? Inquiring minds want to know.

    Boat Soap...the GREAT rip off

Is it possible they just used up packaging made for another product and put the Starbrite stuff in it? Sometimes printed packaging is over bought and the plant that does the filling of customer formula's uses them up and simply puts another customer's label on the bottle to save money. Or maybe...

    GPS Orientation

I can set the orientation on my Garmin and I prefer track up or heading up since I like to know the depth of the water in front of me. Watching the GPS triangle going toward the bottom of the screen is just wrong if north is behind me. By the way, my car works the same way.

    Problems with Financing

I financed my new boat with a company in Annapolis. I don't know if this person is still with them but she was very helpful. The company was Sterling Acceptance Corp. and the person was : Lauren A. Nowak [lauren@sterlingacceptance.com] They specialize in boats and placing only boat loans with...

    THRU HULLS

Do not use brass below the water line! Brass is an alloy of zinc and copper. It is it's own battery in an electrolyte such as salt water. It will disintegrate and crumble and your boat will sink. Make sure any thru hulls are bronze, stainless steel, monel or if synthetic, delrin.

    Stainless steel finishes (?)

Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, nickel and chrome. The iron atoms on the surface oxidize (rust). Passivation is an acid bath process (nitric acid or environmentally friendly citric acid) that removes the surface iron and leaves the corrosion resistant nickel and chrome. Your rails and...
