    Blocking Location

As far as where to place your cribbing, I seem to remember reading in the C-Dory literature or a C-Dory review years ago that: The hull is so strong that if the tide goes out and it rests upon a single large rock there will be no resulting damage. Anyone else remember that?

    ARE YOU PREPARED??

The tread is what it is. To say: "Let's not talk about it here." in my humble opinion puts it under the rug. I want to shout what no one else seems to want to address in this whole matter. If this disaster happened in America I think there would have been riots, looting, insurection and isolated...

    ARE YOU PREPARED??

Lets not get too over zelous friends. One could also say: Don't forget Iodine pills and geiger counters plus stakes for vampire hearts and zombie repellents. I gotta say that the quiet dignity that the Japanese people are showing the world in the aftermath of what, if it's not armegeden must be...

Just wanted to get this earth shattering news on top again considering recent events. Hmmmmmm...

    Spring Flood Hazard Map

I'll be going to a flood preperation meeting here in Prescott, WI. on Tuesday. We are at the confluence of the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers which are probably both headed for record highs. Being 37 feet from the river we are glad we are on the second floor at least. All of the flood areas in...

    Gulliver's Travels

The C-Dory cameo definitely was the high point of the movie in my opinion.

    Gulliver's Travels

I just saw Gulliver's travels with the grand kids. Whose C-Dory is briefly seen in a marina tie along slip in one of the early scenes?

    Fuel line replacement

There has been talk about replacing fuel lines with new spec. hoses that are resistant to solvents and weathering. It has convinced me to re-do Minnie's lines next spring as I have had some fuel related problems with only my starboard Honda. If any of you with dual motors and two tanks are...

    Honda High Idle Lever

page two of my album shows the bungee solution that apparently more than one of us figured out. It works fine, just adjust the height of the loop on the throttle levers to avoid over reving.

Is this a good idea or just smoke and mirrors

Reminds me of a comedy sketch I saw once: An ace mechanic has a glass of used oil in his hand and does the wine taster thing. Much swirling, sniffing, holding up to the light and sipping. All the while declaring: Definately an early Chevrolet, 8 cylinder, hmm, leaky valve on 2 and 6, fram...

    Stupid Question Probably

Well it's not a stupid question but here's a stupid answer. after 6 oil changes on my last two honda 40's I have never replaced the plug washers. I have never added any oil either. Previously on a Honda 40 I never replaced for 10 oil changes. actually i never thought to do it until you brought...

    motor mystery

At idle and reving to 5,000 it is OK, above 3500 RPM under power it cuts out and sometimes quits.

    motor mystery

The batterys are new this year and connections are wrench tight, spark plug were replaced this spring. I was thinking carbs or wiring too. Would draining the carbs do any good? I put Sea Foam in the tank weeks ago.

    motor mystery

The tank is nearly full of non-ethanol premium same as the other tank. I wish the fuel line on the port tank was long enough so I could switch them. I may replace fuel supply lines next and if I do I'll make them long enough to switch. The thing is, the change in RPM is instant when turning hard...

    motor mystery

My starboard Honda 40 drops RPMs and sometimes quits on hard right turns. I know, don't do that anymore. Anyhoo, I have dumped and cleaned the tanks, changed out the Honda Racor and motor mounted filters. It still runs rough for a few minutes and then smooths out 'till next time. Anyone???

    Decorating disaster

Does everyone but me know that decorating your boat (especially with silk flowers) can lead to staining of the gel coat. If not, I want to warn everyone that while it is not incurable it sure makes for a lot of hard work if those decorations get wet. It looked like someone threw a bucket of red...

    Boat Letter Size

Please choose a font that is easily read too! I see boats every day that have names in shadow script, italic and super Old English embellishments that are difficult to read even close up. The stylish fonts are especially hard to read if they are all done in capitols. Check out the styles in the...

    Niagara Falls via C-Dory??

Isn't the river full of rapids after the falls? I seem to remember seeing a documentary on wild jet boat rides around there. They went through narrow canyon like stretches with huge whitewater.

    Honda 40 Cooling

I've had Honda 40's (3) for 20 years and none of them pee the same way twice. They often seem clogged or weak. I constantly have to clear the indicators and lines. I found that heavy duty weed whip line is just the right size and threads trough the system really well.

    Air Conditioning

You may check the last page of my album for pictures of a very inexpensive solution to the in-slip or anchored a/c use. This transom mount does provide cool air in the v-berth. It is a 5000 BTU Sears unit and a good solution for the occasional hot overnight comfort problem. The aluminum channels...
