    02/16 - 02/20 - San Diego

We may have some "fender etiquette" quirks here in So Cal...but back in Byrdman country they will board your vessel and bring their fenders with them...and they don't even care what color they are! Rana Azul???

Hey Pat...sounds good. Copied Don on the Jenny B too. His boat is on San Diego Bay. Loews is just south of where the San Diego gathering will be in February. Maybe we can do a mini pre gathering gathering. Anyone else up for it? Byrdman is very entertaining!

    02/16 - 02/20 - San Diego

As an added activity during the San Diego gathering we will have an educational session for those that are interested. The subject matter will be towing. While not recommended unless absolutely necessary, it is useful to have knowledge of when…and when not to…take a vessel in tow, as well as the...

Well...the Hotel Del of course! That boat rental place is still there...and the marina we will use is next door. Didn't see any rental C-dorys though...so you may have to settle for a ride on Rana Verde...or Halcyon. Course now you guys are 25ers...so you may want to hold out for Dora Jean or...

Presidents Day...forgot about that. That will make for a nice long weekend for some of us! Course for some...like Mike...and El & Bill...it's all one long weekend! Don (Jenny B) has rounded up discount tickets for the Midway and Maritime Museum. We are working out the particulars. Thanks Don...

Checked out the Coronado launch ramp today...the parking lot got smaller in the construction project...and still no overnight parking. So it looks like we will need to launch at Shelter Island. However...I did discover a small marina that will likely have a few slips available...or maybe some...

    02/16 - 02/20 - San Diego

Been checking into logistics for the San Diego Gathering. Looks like it will be an anchor and raft up type gathering. Slips are hard to come by on San Diego Bay, and when you find one it will be very expensive...from $45 on up per night. There are very few guest ties on the bay...and they are...

    01/13 - 01/15 - Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Convention

Roger...opening weekend sounds good to me...and so glad to hear you and travel agent Linda are putting this one together again...you did such a fabulous job last year. And here's my vote for the same hotel as last year...it was fantastic.

    Twin 50's or Twin 40's?

Gosh...with all those criteria...you kinda took all the fun out of it! But...given those parameters... There is a well known axiom: There are only so many horsepower hours in any given engine block...and you can take them all out tomorrow...or you can take them out over the next 5 years. The 40...

    Finger Lakes, New York

El & Bill, Don't miss the Lucas Family Winery on Cayuga Lake. Founded maybe 20 years ago by a tug captain...be sure to try the Tug Boat Red. And the corks they use all say Sibel on them...well use to anyway. It's actually an acronym for a French closure company. Sure hope you two like wine!!! Chris.

    Lake Powell Charts

Steve...Navionics does have Lake Powell...it's in their Hotmaps product...you will need the western region. Remember to look in Utah if you don't see it in Arizona. The C-map stuff will not work on your machine. And as Casey mentioned...get the Stan Jones map even if you have the chip...it's got...

How far safely offshore for the 22 C-Dory?

Check out the C-Dog site...you will see that a bunch of 22's and a few 16's and 25's are headed for a gathering cruise to Catalina again this year...an annual cruise for the So-Cal bunch. http://groups.msn.com/CDoryOwnersGroup

    Centering boat on trailer

Chances are...if you are having trouble centering the boat on the trailer...your trailer is too far in the water. Leave the trailer higher...and the bunks...or rollers...will pick up the hull and center the boat perfectly as you load.

Any Chem Engineers on board?? (Wallas fuel)

Mike...your assumption that the Wallas fuel pump won't handle drawing fuel from this type of tank is probably not valid. The Wallas is typically installed this way on diesel powered boats, drawing from the main fuel supply. Check out the Wallas website and/or give Karl at Scan Marine a call.

Garmin has a rebate program...your old unit could be worth a $150 trade in on a new Garmin...might ease the pain a bit.

    Wallas Thru Hull

Wallas recommends silicone in addition to the gasket for the installation of what they call the "leadthrough" (thru hull). The West Marine silicone claims it's good to 480F. http://www.wallas.fi/pdf/leadthrough.pdf

    Twin Suzuki's or Honda's for a new 22?

Scott... I'd be sure you have dealer support in your area...the Suzi dealer network is real thin...can be tough to find one for after sale support. And my vote would be for a single...but you didn't ask about that!

New 25 Owners - Single Engine?

Stevej...Have you tried proping your motor to let it turn up a little higher? If I remember correctly...you are on the low end of the top rpm range for that motor. Might help your performance.
