    Bow sprit, Anchor Sprit, more.

This is in the way of the anchor line. The manufacturer of the Drum windless assures me that I will never need to cleat off due to the worm gears in his product (not sure I agree). I doubt I'll need the big strong center cleat. Furthermore, depending on whether I un-ravel the rode over the top...

    Nobility question

I'm sorry to carry some of the most basic conversations so far but the truth is I'm learning at such a speedy rate. And I finally have a real boat to apply the knowledge to. My Bow roller is so short that it won't allow the use of my favorite anchor (a very pointy Fortress). A new but longer...

    Nobility question

If I attached a stainless bow roller to an aluminum deck plate would I need to isolate them somehow against corrosion? Some charts online say yes and some no. It seems to me that there would be issues.

    Bow sprit, Anchor Sprit, more.

Dr. Bob, I searched for chocks and also Bow rollers and lo and behold I ran into one of your posts of the anchor set-up on your 25 C-Dory, 'That Away'. I think it was a 2007 that you had. In the photo you show a windlass inline with a large cleat and an anchor roller. Then on the sides you...

    Bow sprit, Anchor Sprit, more.

I have one but it is too short: "then buy a Windline anchor roller, and bolt it on. These are available in different lengths. " Bingo! "You can put cleats and or anchor rollers/fairleads to your hearts content on the fore deck. " While I don't see an absolute need for Fairleads there are...

    Bow sprit, Anchor Sprit, more.

I figured out why a few said not to install a bow sprit. It’s because I’m calling it by the wrong name. It’s not a bowsprit but rather I’m talking about the pulpit upfront. I was using the wrong name sorry. But here at this marina are some awesome pulpets. . “I mentioned this before and was...

    Bow sprit, Anchor Sprit, more.

On my last Sailboat there was a bow sprit for the anchor and other various items/connections. It worked great a kept the Danforth away from the gelcoat. I want to extend the current anchor roller to receive the new Guardian (fortress). I’ve yet to install the new drum windlass. I also would...

Engine Corrosion and other fun things

Oh, I see, I was looking to spray for ease of use. I never thought of overspray being an issue. usually I make small cardboard shields to limit some of the overspray. So I guess you paint this on with a small brush? Or do you wipe it on with a cloth?

Engine Corrosion and other fun things

Okay Tom. I'll wear gloves. Darn Sheep. I was wondering it you could find info on T9 Boeshield Corrosion and Rust preventer. I'd like to use it on my steering and throttle cables. Currently I use their original formula to clean and lube vintage reel and it is simply fab. Anyway I was not able or...

Would saltaway work if sprayed onto the outboard or does it wear off too quickly?

Engine Corrosion and other fun things

Fluid film is the most affordable, (none are terribly expensive). Thanks for the testimonial. It was the 90's last I saw galvanized rigging...sort of glad I never dealt with it.

Engine Corrosion and other fun things

Thanks Tom, Oh great so I can soften My skin while protecting the engines, lol, Remember Madge in the Palmolive dish soap commercials. Any Idea how it compares in price? While I'm not terribly convinced that any of these are used enough to matter for the environment, when used as directed, But...
