    Another New Member

Scott- As you know, you live in some fine cruising country. We sure have enjoyed chugging along Maine and the northeast in general. The front opening window is great for circulation and keeping out condensation. We had a Wallas heater -- it was great for cooking and heating. We had a small...

    Great Loop

A great cruise awaits you. As others have said, take your time. Leave at a marina on the hard for winter, if it gets cold, and come back the following year to finish the cruise of a lifetime. Bon voyage. El and Bill

Hot off the press - new C-Dory book

We have just completed condensing our website into an Ebook -- available from Amazon.com. We think it is a good book for those considering a boat, or who have just bought a boat. Also should be of interest for those considering cruising longer distances. The price is right --$2.99 Product...

    Off to the arctic

Tomorrow we fly to Edmonton. Then the next day to Kugluktuk on the Arctic Ocean. We board an ice-hardened commercial ship to cruise for three weeks through the Canadian arctic Islands to Greenland's west coast, then in and out of fjiords along the coast, and then late in the month fly back to...

    Compass required?

Wow - thanks George - that will sure make our old scout compass a marvelous entertainment. Your GPS was a joy, and got you through the arctic.

    Compass required?

"Be prepared -- that's the Boy Scouts marching song." If an electronic system (or systems) can fail, someday they will. We will be cruising north of the magnetic pole in a few weeks, so my old scout compass might have a problem.:-)

    C-Dory in Long Island Sound

Your shallower draft with the new boat will open up many fine places not available to others. There are so many coves and small harbors in the sound -- anchoring in those when the winds are right, will be a delight. When the conditions are fine, circumnavigating Long Island can be a delight...
