    12V Fan

We use the West Marine "Battery-Powered Crew Fan". In fact we have two and use them only with the batteries. They last well beyond the 300 hrs when run on low and are easy to move around. And they are super quiet. Just never have purchased the 12v adapter.

    Cabin de-humidifier

We have one Boaters World "Cafranio Stor Dry, Experts Choice" air dryer which has a fan or West Marine "Air-Dryer with fan" that we run all year long. It is put on the floor just in front of the bunk. During the winter we use a West Marine "Battery-Powered Crew fan" placed by the foot of the...

A Couple Questions about Screens and a HOT DEAL!!

Jim. For the forward hatch I purchased a product called R-Teck, Insulfoam. It is a product that is used for houses and has a silver finish on one side. Got it from one of the big box stores. Cut it to the dimensions of the hatch for a snug fit. Also made screen for the hatch and used velcro...

    Thank You

John. That was one great presentation. I have attended a number of them and would count your's as a solide "10". If you do have a summer fishery presentation count me in. Again thanks for the great job. Ted

    Fish Boxs

We keep a cooler on the boat and keep bagged ice in it. It is placed on the bunk (keep something under it to prevent what sweat that might come thru) and when fish are caught the cooler is placed on the aft deck and the fish are iced down after they are bled. Then the cooler goes back on the bunk.

    Downrigger Mounting

Ken. Rather than install the ball holders you might consider the Scotty Downriggr Weight Hook #1147 for 1" booms or 1148 for 1 1/4" booms. I think they are more handy. The holders you could just place in the side pockets loose for travelling if you want. I just leave mine on the boom.

    Pictures of Lake Powell Cruise

What wonderful pictures, as always. It would be interesting to hear about how the boat got sideways and on what looked like dry land toward the end of Lake Powell #4. Thanks for sharing.

Our GPS antenna is inside the cabin and we have never had a problem.

    Fender rash

Regarding how to prevent that in the future. We went to a thrift store and purchased several pair of sweat pants and cut them off the length of fenders. Left the part with the elastic and put that portion at the top of the fender. One could sew the other end closed, but we just leave them open...

Lemon Pledge for cleaning Vinyl Windows

We have been using Lemon Pledge for yrs and it really works. One of the boats on our dock was going to get new side curtains and I told him about Lemon Pledge. He used it and while it didn't take them back to new he was able to put off getting new ones for three yrs.

    water stains on windows

A product that I have had excellent results with is Spot-X. It comes in a powder and you mix a little water to make a paste like and put it on the window and scrub it around and use a towel to take off.

You are SO not going to believe this...

What a neat looking cat, even if it has a different side to it. We tried making a boat cat out of our Abby, no luck. :crook She likes her home and wants nothing to do with boats. Well, that the way it goes. :crook Good luck on your adventure.

    Fishfinder Setting

Gary, I also saw the presentation by Jeff Boyer and I'm now convinced NOT to use fish symbols. It does take away the perception that one has when looking at those fish on the finder and thinking man there are a lot of fish down there. How many times have I not seen any or very few fishy things...

    Tom Cat sitting low?

Phil. From the very first we noticed the same thing on our Tomcat, but it is only about 1" at the most. Don't know how your TC is set up, but we have two batteries on the STB side, plus the cables for the steering, etc. and also the porta potty and its enclosure. We do have a battery on the port...

    Auto-inflatable PFD choices

Colobear. A number of years ago I purchased at the boat show an inflatable vest that can be blown up by mouth or will inflate when a vest pocket is pulled. It was from Stormy Seas and is veeery comfortable to wear. You can find them at: Stormy Seas. Inc. on the web. At the time I purchased mine...

    Do radios wear out ??

Joel. Don't forget that there are two elements of reception, one is the radio itself and the other is the antenna. There are others that know a lot more than I do on this subject, but if you could borrow a handheld that has an antenna that you can take off you should be able to connect that up to...

    Rocket Launchers and Down Riggers

I previously had Cannon's and always thought they were too slow in retrieval and were hard to control on letting down. Sold them and got Scotty's and never looked back. They are simple to maintain and are guaranteed for life. I don't even use the rod holder on the downrigger itself. Installed...
