Flood / Docking Lights Mounted on Radar Arch

Harvey, I have the Go Light mounted on the center of the bow rail and I have never noticed that it blocked my view. Even fly a flag above it and if anything that can block more...but again I don't notice it. Guess it is kinda similar to having big side mirrors on a truck, if there is a blind...

    C-Dory Storage

Good Morning Larry, The bay doors that I store my 22' in are 10' x 12'. If I could do it over, the doors would be 12' wide instead of 10'! (10' wide allows very little clearance as the fenders pass through the opening). I do have a radar arch with the radome mounted on top of it, but it is...

Green laser saves lost diver off O'ahu

If you access the link that Doc referenced you will see that in February 2012 the U.S. Congress passed into law H.R. 268 that exempts " an individual using a laser emergency signaling device to send an emergency distress signal". The write up about this goes on to say that includes shining at...

    V700 windlass retrieve issue

. Deploy and set your anchor, then secure one end of the 5 foot line to the bow eye. Then hand pull in several feet of anchor rode, attach your rolling hitch to the rode then ease the rode out so the strain is taken on the 5 foot line and bow eye and no strain is on the winch. If I know I am...

    V700 windlass retrieve issue

The method I use is a 5 foot line secured to the bow eye with the distal end secured to the rode with a rolling hitch....works great!

    Verizon vs. AT&T Coverage

I previously had AT&T but switched to Verizon and have experienced no problems. This past summer as with previous summers, when I went into Canada, I added Canadian coverage for about $10 per month. This past summer it took a bit of time and research at my local Verizon store to accomplish...

Yep, he called me too and sounds great as usual as he interjects his infectious laugh in the conversation. He confirmed that soon we will be able to make the Conway Oyster run together! :smilep

Would you buy agin or go another way ?

I wanted to be certain that Sunbeam was aware that is possible to have a swim platform with twins on a C-Dory. (In the past some C-Brats were unaware that a small number of us have been able to have them installed with our twins.) Certainly, this platform is not quite as large as the one on...

Would you buy agin or go another way ?

Thanks, I think they go well with the boat color scheme since they are white and sport a "splash" of red on the sides of the upper covers. FYI, they are Suzukis under a Johnson cover.

Would you buy agin or go another way ?

Be assured that it is possible to have a swim platform with twins. (An example is evident on pages 2 and 3 of my photo album). :)

Another 2005 CD25 Fuel Tank (vent) Question?

I've never had a problem with any marina in Washington State allowing me to be on my vessel while I fill it with fuel. I do have all other occupants of the boat exit the boat while I am in the fueling process. I guess I can understand Oregon having a law like that because they will not allow...

    My Last Boat VI

Engine preferences have been hashed out repeatedly on this site over the years and after all the "votes" are in someone will say......"You can't really go wrong with any of the new 4 strokes, just be sure you have a strong dealer for the choice you make that is located in the area of where you...

    Considerations of infections on boats.

I totally agree with you Brent.....I have often wished that Joe had been my High School Science Teacher! :thup Of course he would have been fresh out of high school then.... (In 2002, I posted information about 1st Aid Kits and it can be found by going to Forums, then Library...

09/21 Lake Powell September 2013 Gathering

Actually I think it is more about liability. The Coast Guard Auxiliary is now at total stand down. Cannot do Patrols, Training, Vessel Exams or even have meetings and Auxiliarists are all volunteers. All those volunteers would continue serving for free, but alas are not permitted to do so and...

    Ethanol-free gas for boaters

Last month when I tried to fuel up at the Bellingham Marina, I was surprised to learn that they no longer had non-ethanol fuel. Fortunately I asked just as the attendant handed me the fuel nozzle. (Previously they had non-ethanol). I thanked him for his efforts, handed the nozzle back to him...
