    Mokai ES-Kape

Thinking about buying one or maybe 2 if the Admiral likes it. The ES-Kape is the only model they now make. Anyone familiar with the new model?

    Colorado floods

My mother was evacuated from her retirement home in Boulder and went to stay with my sister in Boulder. My sister's basement got flooded. She had just had some plumbing work done, and the contractor put in a new sump pump and a new water heater. They had been without hot water for four days. Mom...

    New Washington State BUI law

I have also been hearing a lot about BUI, so I asked a friend in the Coast Guard. If you are stopped and, as the captain, have an open container, you can be cited for that. You can also be charged with BUI, if you are over .08. The captain can safely drink at anchor. I like to go out into the...

Mine was purchased brand new from West Marine and installed by a person they recommended. As you say, it comes and goes.

    Funky depth return-Garmin 740S

Mine goes haywire sometimes, too. Sometimes for no reason. If I stop the boat, it will usually reset. Other times it is seaweed that I have to remove.

C-Dory or Arima as Fire Department / Fire Rescue Boat

Call Chad Crozier at Crozier Craft. He is in Port Angeles. His # is 360-461-4825. He does custom work. I was looking for a smaller monohull, and Armstrong recommended Crozier. He used to work for Armstrong.

    Triton now Northwest Marine Industries?

They are simple well built , seaworthy boats that don't need a lot of attention. The first time I got in a CC, I knew I was at home. I bought my boat to do the Great Loop in retirement. WONDERFUL BOAT! We weren't able to do the trip for many reasons. They are for people who want to enjoy their...

Planning to convert to Electric over Hydraulic and discs?

I put EOH disc brakes on my trailer so I wouldn't get the klunk starting and stopping. I use them in salt water 99% of the time. They work well, you can change the setting as to how much braking is applied on application, and you can manually increase it as needed. The system cost over $2000...

To List or Not to list inventories

I think the inventory shoould be private. If you are selling the boat, and have it in a secure location, then OK.

    Octane Ratings

I had a Ford with a 428 CID motor. If I didn't use at least 91 octane, the motor sounded like it was poping corn.

    Otter box for iphone 3

It was too bulky. I didn't like the screen touch. I don't hear well, and the Otter Box muffled the ring volume. I got it because we had planned to do the Great Loop and wanted the protection. We wound up not doing it, and the Otter Box is just sitting around taking up space.

    New Permatrim/5200 question

Jenny I sold my Venture. This permatrim will go on a small Alumaweld. I forget which hydrofoil I put on the Venture. The only difference I noticed was better low speed handling at the marina.

YES! Let's cut foreign aid out completely and use the money to rebuild OUR infrastructure. End of rant.

    New Permatrim/5200 question

I just ordered a Permatrim from Andy last week. This thread comes at a good time for me. I think I'll use the 4200. BTW, I liked the Polident comment, Joe.
