    Cockpit floor lining

While not as nice as the new ones, I put a commercial kitchen type rubber flooring in my 22 year old angler. Even in driving rain the water seeps back to the bilge area and it makes for nice comfortable cushioned flooring. Comes in 3'x3' snap together panels (4 used). Only drawback is it is a...

Differences between older models and newer ones

I believe 87 was also the first year that they went to the big transom cut, as well. Chris

    Repower on 22 cruiser.

I had a 70 Johnson on my Angler and a 15 Ev kicker. I sold them both and repowered with an etec 90 and a Johnson 9.9 4stk a year ago. I added quite a few other things to the boat and quite a bit of weight (probably +/- 400#). The result was a boat that did not have a lot more top end than the...

    Anchor buoy/windlass

There are videos on the web that show the use of Buoy lifts. There is a short video at this web site http://www.ironwoodpacific.com/products ... orring.htm There are several varieties available, that fall essentially in 2 categories, simple ring and ratchet. If you have more chain weight than...

    Angle of boat on trailer

A set of side guide rollers at the rear of the trailer would help greatly single hand loading in the wind. just one type: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... hasJS=true My boat sits low enough that it rests on a standard keel roller up front. Chris

    E-tec question

Isn't the 75 the same inline displacement as the 90. I'd certainly check what it might cost to uptune the hp if you needed to? If the savings are that great? I just took a look at the web site and I don't know what year, etc. I have an 08 90 etec on mine and would prefer to not go lower, but...

    Bunk carpet in long lengths

You could use 10-12' and put one of the plastic covers (eastern marine) over the front 4'. (can add right over the carpet) Boat will probably slide off better when the rear end is floating off the carpet too. Like 2nd picture in Trailer Mods. Just a thought. Chris

    Spare Carrier

There was plenty of room on my EZ alum to mount my spare horizontally on the yolk behind the post (Trailer Mods 9 of 13). I carry my spare idler hubs separately in my trailer bag because it was so much easier to use the rim holes to fix the tire in place. As you can see there is not a lot of...

high altitude boating question - lake tahoe

I have a 22 with a 90 etec injected and a 9.9 Johnson 4 stroke kicker. I have not been to Tahoe yet but have run several times at Eagle Lake (5100'). The etec runs and starts fine but I lose 4-500rpms, though I'm still within the operating range. It was also very cold both times (2 wks each)...

    ACR or McMurdo

Thank you for the replies. Does anybody know if there is any advantage of one over the other as far as battery replacement down line? Or with rapidly changing technologies should these be viewed pretty much as a 5 year life item? Chris

    ACR or McMurdo

I know this has been talked about a lot, but it appears the two are now getting very competitively priced. The ACR aqualink with gps is now around $350 and the fast find is about $300. The ACR does appear to float and I don't think the fast find does and the ACR has a strobe. model 2882 at...

    Trailer rollers

It looks like on 2003 and later models, Load Rite did away with the outer hog ring and washer on each roller in favor of an integral nylon arm spacer with an outside cap that appears to be all fastened to the arm with one hog ring on the inside of each roller. I see your boat is an 01, but the...

    Trailer rollers

Ken, I just replaced all the old washers and hog rings on an ez loader. I do not know if the load rite's are the same or not. They look to be the same at trailer parts superstore. If they are like the ez loader ( squeeze clips "hog rings", that go front and back of the wobble rollers with...

    Raymarine S1000 Wireless Autopilot

Yes, it should follow the course pretty well, and the handheld remote will let you adjust a bit and dodge flotsom. I don't know about your gps, hopefully someone will, but there are only a couple tiny nmea wire connections so it will be an easy swap if/when you upgrade (leave a little extra...

    Trailer Wheels

    even the most experienced have problems launching some days. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvAHYR5DnZE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Cc6koI0 ... re=channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YLvVP9Z ... re=channel Chris

    Trailer Wheels

Suggest you might try the glides first. You may be able to save your bigger wheels and a few bucks. The bigger wheels will probably give you a better ride and greater load capacity. If it doesn't work you can always ad on plan B. Chris

    Trailer Wheels

Those plastic bunk slicks might help you to launch it? Especially on the vehicle end of the bunks. They are the first or second thing down on the link page. Those poly bunk rollers would be another thought. http://shop.easternmarine.com/index.cfm ... goryID=221 Chris

    Columbia River Gorge

If you are a fisherman, this next section is borrowed from another thread. I can sit and watch that for hours(Though I'd be sure to see it if I were there). There are also lots of guided trips for salmon (and sturgeon?) there at that time of year. Chris START BORROWED After all the talk...

    Raymarine software upgrades

Yes Harvey, sorry about that, I was told 5.52 was out but that certainly does not link to it. Sorry, and remember "just be nice!" If a Mod wants to drop this one, fine by me. Chris
