    Shrimp / Prawns

Big Dave, What size mesh do you have now? I use mine in Canada and US. Agree with Tom about areas and rigging -- except I use an anchor, then clip the pot to the main line, then clip on another weight to keep the pot from moving. I use a lot more float and a tag-line of about 15 feet with...

    01/23 - 01/25 - Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Convention

Thanks guys! "please don't talk about me when I'm gone" or so the song sez. And Roger, if you think my war stories are way out in left field -- wait until you hear some of my fish tales!! Hated to miss the fun gathering, but maybe next time.  Dusty

    Just for Dusty........

Hi gang. The report of my demise was a bit premature -- or so said some author guy. I'm doiing a whole lot better and certainly beg forgiveness for all the worry I've generated... friends are friends, and I'm sorry. Macular degeneration makes using the computer a painful chore -- and serious...

My experience exactly with teak oil. Easy to apply, but takes a lot of work to get the dirt out for the next coat. The "new" Cetol is definitely my teak covering of choice. Worth while to watch a Devlin boat under construction. This is boat building at another level! Any surveyor in our area...

Ranger Tug 21ec - My Observation!

Happy to see ya back, Pat. That 21ec just ain't designed for the Byrdguy I know  -- but with your soon-to-be swelt figure you'll probably fit. Come up when you can -- the BBQ joint guys say they miss you -- and Dusty does. My pinhead takes a small hat, but the danged white still shows...

Right now we are applying the 6th or 7th coat of Cetol to the new bulkhead in the old 22 Classic. The beautiful grain shows through -- pictures later. Sure agree with Bob -- varnish is much more durable. The Burger hand rails (and toe rails) were all beautiful teak -- varnished -- 96 ft from bow...

And Cetol is the way to go up here in Deception Pass area. But Bob is right on -- gotta stay with it -- but it's so easy to lightly sand and lay on another coat. But there is nothing prettier than a well-done varnish job. Dusty

Wood! My old Herreshoff sailboat, built in 1898 (NO, Charlie, I didn't buy her new), was in pristine condition when we divorced in 197x. Not a bit of rot... :love :love. Had to sign an agreement NEVER to put power on her when I bought her. Dusty

My last post was OT. Sorry. Re Devlin, Tom Ray is right of course. But (always that but), a Devlin-built boat in the Pac NW is a real jewel to knowledgeable boaters -- and always in demand if in good condition. And next to generators I've had more trouble with V-drives than anything else on a...

Tom, I have fished both my CD 22 and my (ex) 26 Bartender in the nasty ocean off Neah Bay. Gordon (Pt. Angeles) is right as to seakeeping ability. BUT (Huge but), the CD 22 does MANY things better, so it's always a trade off. Ain't it always so. I've been fishing from Pt. Angeles...
