My honda 2 is pre-centrifugal clutch and does have an impellar.

There are a lot of anchorages if you have some decent anchoring gear. Out on the north end of effingham is a pretty good one that you could easily tuck into.

They have an impellar in the lower unit. They say it is to cool the exhaust. I would think running one out of water for any significant length of time would at least melt or damage the impellar. I have had to change impellars a couple of times over the years.

Was always curious about running it out of water as it does have a water pump that apparently cools the lower unit. Any chance of damage there?

They also work well as another way back into the boat if you fall off.

Sternsaver looks like a great way to go. Will get one and apply it in the spring. Has anyone supplied a measurement for where the best spot is for the transducer relative with the outer edge of the bottom? I have twin hondas on my 1996 22' cruiser.

Just curious, but even though the transom cants in, can't you tilt both/either the engine and/or the motor bracket. I went on their website and it looked like there was a lot of available adjustment. I don't currently use one, but may have to in the future.

I have had this happen to me before. Once even on a new c-dory. I took out the one bolt, propped up the rail to get some space under the base then cleaned out the hole and sealed it well. Took about an hour. Cleaning off the old sealant takes the most time. I know the proper thing to do...
