    Ice coolers

I don't think so, the ones I checked out at the Ace hardware seemed about the same weight as the equivalent Yeti. They may have new options, I havent been paying attention. The Pelican coolers are extremely heavy and have rubber feet so moving them around is impossible without lifting.

    Ice coolers

I agree with you and don't mind spending more for products manufactured in the USA. I don't even buy a pair of shoes anymore unless its made in the US. Unfortunately for Yeti, most of their products are made in the Phillipines and China. They've used clever marketing and omitted origin stickers...

    Ice coolers

We use a Pelican cooler I bought like 10 years ago. It hold ice like nobody's business, but it's bulky. The outside dimensions are much larger than the interior. For that reason I don't recommend it. Ive abused it and busted the latches off. replacement parts were cheap from their website. Good...

Anyone ever look at a stabicraft 2500 ultracab xl

Ive never ridden in one, but have checked them out at the Seattle boat show multiple years. There was a stabicraft docked next to us in Sekiu, Ill never forget because the owner was especially unpleasant and the boat was a real looker  He comes up to our boat as we were getting ready...

First Time Power Boater - needing advice on a 22

That looks like a nice one at a good price to me. The mid 90s boats were really well built, they hadn't ramped up production to the mid 2000 levels, so the attention to detail was really good in those years. Those honda 40s were very robust and reliable. They had carburetors with small jets that...

    Horsepower

Clay you should try and get a ride in another boat with twin 40s. We ran an identical boat for years and I never felt it was underpowered. Fully loaded cruising speed in the low 20s if my memory is correct. Certainly not as fast as a new Suzuki 140 would be, but never had a problem getting on a...

Navigating Deception Pass (Whidbey Island, WA)

I've been through the pass regrettably when we should have waited for slack tide. We lived, the boat handled it okay. It was rough enough we lost power on our port engine(carb) and took a lot of green water over the roof. Would not do it again or recommend to anyone. After going through dozens...

Honda 90 (carb) starting tips needed

2007 BF90 was fuel injected. You either don't have a carb, or you have a 2006 or prior engine which is a totally different design than the Vtec fuel injected engines from 2007 and later. If it's carbed it has a lever to the right side of the throttle you need to raise when starting the engine...

    Craigslist: 1996 C-Dory 22 - $18,000

Seller could have probably got twice the asking price. Awesome deal though!

To repower, or not to repower , that is the question?

Look at it this way, not only is the c-dory better suited for your family outings.... its a better use of funds than a repower. When/if your tastes change and you need to sell it, c-dorys usually re-sell for around what you paid. You get your money back. I've lost more money on other boats than...

    Boating Alone

The only thing I do differently alone is wear a pdf 100% of the time. I do not do so all the time when I have company. Otherwise its similar. Docking and rope work you get used to doing solo, even with company if your company isn't up to the task. Its like netting your own fish

    Ocean going (Tuna) advice

I've never ridden in a pro-angler II but looking at the hull shape and design, I'd imagine it would be a bit smoother and faster. I don't know how much fuel they hold but overall the hull is a better design for offshore trips. The c-dory has a unique ride, and the venture is more similar to the...

    Ocean going (Tuna) advice

The 22 c-dory isn't the best boat for offshore west coast albacore fishing. The fishing grounds are a long ways out, and if conditions go south, it would pound you to death coming back in. Not to mention fuel capacity is an issue in a 22 going 100 miles offshore. It's been done, but you'd be...

Looking for a C-dory 22, advantages of newer vs. older?

I think what you're describing is the raised floor in the cockpit of 2007 and later boats. Water gets under the floor through cracked old caulking against the cabin bulkhead. It no longer seals so rainwater collect. The solution is a really simple one. Just redo the caulking. I carefully removed...

    Skagit Orca Boats?

They are made by NMI just as c-dory is, as well as Seasport, Osprey and TomCat. Ive always been a big fan of the Skagit Orcas. If I went offshore more, I would want the deeper V and heavier hull of the Skagit Orca.

    SOLD - C-Dory 22 Cruiser 2007 for Sale

+1 I agree! I learned a lot from Sunbeam and miss all the contributions. Good luck with the sale of course, this boat is priced to move quickly.

Coke or Pepsi.... 22 Cruiser vs. 23 Venture... and why

The 23 is significantly bigger than the 22. It was always apparent when I step off my friends 23 after fishing all day and go check on my own boat (a 22) in the marina. My 22 seemed like a toy. Them sitting side by side on trailers it's also pretty apparent. The interior of the cabin feels much...

What's Seattle really like these days?

If you would have asked me 10 years ago where I'd see myself, it would have been right where I was then... north of Seattle, working in Everett. It was amazing. My commute was a around 25 minutes, most of the heroin zombies hadn't shown up yet. My home state was beautiful. I don't know what...

    Heaters

Yes those are the ones. I spent so much money and time purchasing and installing our used Wallas pulled from another boat, and had tons of issues with it..... how bad could one of these $150 units be? I may end up just getting a espar or wabesto unit, but if I do bite the bullet and install one...

    Heaters

We're in the market for a new heat solution since our Wallas took a dump again and I'm finally tired of messing with it. I talked to a couple of full time houseboat folks on the St John river on our spring trip, and seemed the trend is installing these inexpensive Chinese cab heaters on Amazon...
