    Battery group size

You need to be aware of where the batteries are mounted. Some boats have them in the lazarette which limits the size (due to the opening). My boat can only take size 24 because of this. Yes, I could move the batteries if I wanted bigger ones, but the 24s work fine for me.

Repair log - wet transom core

What did you do to ensure that there were no bubbles or voids when filling the transom with CarbonBond?

My AIS-800 is hiding from me!

Newer Standard Horizon radios can do it (at least it was implied by Standard Horizon). I asked about resetting a MMSI on a radio I was going to sell. I asked SH about resetting it and they asked me the model and serial number. They said "On that one you have to send it in to be reset."

My AIS-800 is hiding from me!

Some newer radios can reset the MMSI without sending it to a shop if you know the secret series of button presses. You can contact the radio manufacturer with the model number to find out if you can do this and what the secret sequence is.

on my 22 I have the whole Gamut of lines

I mainly use 2 lines when docking. One from the middle cleat (outside the window and one on the stern cleat. I have 3 pairs of lines that are color coded to indicate their length. I also have a few misc lines for use when needed (both shorter than the shortest dock line and longer than the...

Water Leaks Into Cabin of 2003 25' Cruiser

On 22s a source of leaks into the cabin is the aft bulkhead. I'm not sure of how the 25 is put together in that area, but it is something you might check.

    Is it worth up grading

To make that much difference it would have to be pretty banged up.

    Is it worth up grading

That's the prop I run on my 90. 15mph @ 5K seems pretty low. I get around 20mph at just above 4K rpm. At WOT (5.6K rpm) my boat will do about 35mph if it is light (but it's pretty scary at that speed, the hull is hanging onto the water by a thread). Are you running very stern heavy? Do you have...

    Is it worth up grading

You want to add 20 mph or cruise at 20 mph? My '08 CD22 will do 20mph easy with a Honda 90 (about 4K rpm depending on the load) when loaded for being out for a week or so. The 22 starts getting squirrelly at speeds above 30 mph. Going faster than that is not recommended. Unless there is...

    C-Dory Meet Up in Midwest

I've been interested in visiting that area with my CD22 for some time. Not sure I can pull it off this August though.

    Low speed steering suggestions?

These boats have pretty flat bottoms. This means there is nothing to help track straight. Any crosswind will tend to turn the bow downwind. Any transfer of lateral loads will cause the boat to turn to the heavy side. This is the nature of these boats and it just requires attention to the...

Cat(s), on board, who has them?

There are some YouTube videos about living with cats on boats.

Cat(s), on board, who has them?

I knew people that had cats on a sailboat. One fell off the boat one night at anchor. Fortunately, they heard the splash and were able to fish it out. It was a black cat on a dark night, so the cat got lucky, but expended one life.

    Insurance recommendations

I also have Progressive and had the same experience. It seems to me that if you go with agreed value, it is easy for the insurance company to price a policy. For a hull loss, the worst case payout is the agreed value (not counting liability, etc.) and they don't have to spend any effort to...

Forward Dock Lines, Snubbing and chafing

You could always attach lines to the bow eye. If I know I am going to use a mooring, I attach a line to my bow eye that is long enough to reach around to the cockpit. The line has a shackle that is connected to the mooring ring or pendant. For mooring at dock you can have two lines that can go...

Saltaway is used to remove salt accumulations. It is not a preventative.

    Bimini Strap Hooks

The fittings for my rear bimini straps are screwed into the flat panels in the rear of the cockpit that cover the fuel tanks. You just have to make sure that the screws are not too long.

    Bimini Strap Hooks

My 22 has them low down on the exterior of the aft cabin bulkhead. If you board at the side from a dock with the bimini up, you have to mind the strap.
