Live aboard - advice on how to pay for it

Cindie and I won't be ready to retire and live aboard for a few more years. But I love reading about the experiences and advice of others doing it before us. Please keep sharing and any folks out there who retire early and or live aboard, what tools worked for you and how do you keep the ship...

    Prepping to Buy... Advice?

Agree with everyone on the compass. We have had one installed on all boats and the current 19 is even wired to light up with the dash lights! I don't use it with any regularity and would be happy enough with a nice handheld on board. But, I will say that personally, I use it when crossing...

This boat is an odd duck but has some cool ideas

Neat boats and would be great for how some folks actually use their C-dories. Big difference would be the outdoor helm. Up here in the cooler region, that would be a non-starter for many. Interior on the 20 looks fantastic though. Greg

Jim and the Blond but mostly about Izzy

She was a cute one for sure, and while we never got to see her in the fur, I have enjoyed the many photos of her on your blog. Sorry about your loss down there. Rest up and remember the furry expressions. No two cats are the same, and our current furry housemate sure could use a bit more Izzy...

    This is a beautiful thing.

Just goes to show that a larger/new engine can drink less than an older smaller one. We had to luck out to crack 2mpg with our old twin 90s. Greg

    2007 22 Cruiser Capt's Seat

We had two new helm type seats built by the factory two years ago. Did they not offer that option. They did cost us over 300 a piece but have been well worth it in our opinion. More details in this thread, http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... e9125a9263 Greg

Toland 18 and cruiser 22 comparison

Thinking about the Toland a bit more. I think it could be a perfect solo cruising platform. Like an expanded 16 with features of the 22. Greg

Toland 18 and cruiser 22 comparison

They are very similar on a feature by feature basis with the Toland being more compact in about every dimension. If you are small people, you may not really notice the reduced space but if you are not, I would lean heavily toward the 22 cruiser or 23 venture. Our 19 cruiser weighs over 4000lbs...

    Portland (Oregon) Boat Show

A nice Eastern 27 with an unusual layout plus a few neat Jeanneau models like the NC 795 and 895. We blew through in a couple of hours and are down in CA on the coast to hike for the weekend now. Greg

    Introduction

Different boat sizes, completely within the allowable name standards set forth by the founding members according to CB conditional namesake ruling 2.16 which can be found in the documents section of this very website. Thankfully, that is not how it works, I want to see a picture of both boats...

Would like to borrow or rent a trailer for a 25 C-dory

Hi Brett, the current thread about outboards could use your input on Evinrude experiences. I also know of a couple who may have a trailer in the area for you. I will email them. Greg
