    Tomcat 255

I am familiar with the Philadelphia area. Went to Ursinus College in Collegeville. Many moons ago!

    Tomcat 255

Yes, 301 is the plan. Since we're coming from/going to Annapolis, makes more sense that trying to negotiate NO. Va. 95 traffic. Thanks for the tips. Will check them out. Did you buy your boat from Marc?

    Tomcat 255

Hey Charlie: Pensacola is about 100 miles farther west than Apalachicola, but you are maybe 100 miles closer than me. Is Greenville about 1/2 way for a trip like this? I don't think I want to stay in a parking lot and maybe a hotel is the best alternative, just looking for ideas. Thanks. Bill

    Tomcat 255

So I'm hauling the TC 255 back from FL to Md in a couple of weeks. Any ideas on where to stop and spend a night besides a hotel. A campground would be nice, as long as it had the amenities. I'm thinking SC or NC so we could make the final trek home, the next day. Thanks, Bill

    Tomcat 255

Well, I am bringing a new to us TC 255 home to Annapolis in a couple of weeks. I spent the weekend in Apalachicola, FL with the very gracious Mark Grove of Wefing's Marine. He had a Tomcat on consignment and after checking it out, I bought it. She is a great boat and is well equipped with a/c...

    Removing fuel from a C-dory 22 crusier

Try a Super Siphon. I use it to fill my tanks and have used it to empty tanks as well. Has always worked great for me and I don't spill a drop when filling the tank, moored in marina. Google it. I have no affiliation with them, just got good results. Bill

    Complete Overhaul 22-Cruiser: Some Opinions/Questions/Advice

I agree with Tex. The first powerboat I had had a 1972 3 cylinder Johnson on it. It was a great motor. Just couldn't kill it. Put spark plugs, lower unit oil and a water pump in it and just go.

M&M What motor is currently on the boat?

    Gasoline Security (FYI)

Since a barrel of oil closed at $99 a barrel today, price at the pump will probably??? hahaha go up. There is more of this to come. Boats hunkered down for the winter at beach homes and in marinas, with the (recommended) full tank of gas. All you have to do is read a boat forum - any one - and...

    Gasoline Security (FYI)

Interesting. I just got a post from the Homeowner's Association in the community where we own a beach house in Delaware. Evidently, someone has been approaching boats, from land or water - all homes have lagoon access, and has been cutting boat gas lines - all of which were located on land, and...

    Stopped motor hours gauge

Is the gauge a Suzuki? Mine is hooked up to run when the ignition is turned on, whether the motor is running or not. You should be able to apply 12v to it to see if it is indeed working. Bill

    new CCA video worth watching.

I love my rockfish and this pisses me off. This is only one of too many discovered last winter. I guess I'm fired up on a Friday because the release of the Conowingo dam upstream of the Bay has turned the Bay into a coffee colored and appliance covered mess. PA and states north in the watershed...

    new CCA video worth watching.

Duh, I should have watched the video first. We are dealing with the same problem here in the Chesapeake Bay. Gill nets are a deadly problem, especially when deployed illegally. Tons of Rockfish (Striped Bass) were killed this past winter. See attached from last winter...

Excuse me, but what is fin clipping and what does it do? Don't see too many - none - salmon here in the Chesapeake. Thanks, Bill
