    My Apologies: Props Again

I know there is not a definate way to buy the perfect prop without actually mounting it and running it. I just appreciate all of the feed back. Each post has given me a little more information and knowledge that I did not have before. I believe my odds of picking an acceptable prop is higher...

Good to hear. I'm very tempted to make the red light green. Glad you had fun and returned safely.

    My Apologies: Props Again

Joe & Marc, Okay, I've been a lurker and member long enough to know when experienced knowledge has been spoken (typed). I will take these sugestions to heart and purchase accordingly! If you have anything else to add, please feel free. I will not be able to check in until Sunday as I have a...

    My Apologies: Props Again

Pro pulse has a four blade prop 10.4x12-16 adjustable pitch. Smaller diameter than our stock prop but four blades. Would this be something to consider? I have used Piranha props on other boats and liked them but they are not adjustable and 3 bladed for my motor.

    My Apologies: Props Again

Capt Dan, Thank you for the reply and yes, it does help me to better understand. I had not thought about changing diameter. I was assuming (theres that word) that if I increased the pitch, the motor would have a greater load on it thus reducing RPM at WOT. As an aside, we almost never exceed...

    My Apologies: Props Again

I'm not a stupid guy but, prop numbers have me stymied. Talk to the shop guys and it all makes sense right up untill I hang up the phone! 16 Cruiser with EFI 50 Honda, current prop is stock 11.1x13 three blade aluminum. Under our usual load the motor will come up against the rev limiter before...

Change of storage tank use - diesel to gasoline

It is okay to run gas through a diesel filter but, not the other way around. Gas will break down the glue used in most diesel filters. Not sure why they don't make them all multi-fuel. As for the remaining diesel I would most likely add 5 gallons of gas to it and then drain that before changing...

    ANCHOREXPRESS.COM

Anyone done business with Anchor Express? Some of their pricing looks good but, I do not know anything about them. Reluctant to use them without positive feedback from trusted C-Brats.

    16 Cruiser trim tabs installed.

Too late to go out and measure, but I'am confidant to say the top of my Permatrim plate is about 2-3" below the bottom of the hull. I have not had any problems as far as sucking air under it unless I really over trim for running the shallow water.

    16 Cruiser trim tabs installed.

Curious to see what you think of them after some use. Please keep us informed. I posted on this a while back. General consensus was that it was not worth the expense on a 16C. I'm still not convinced that the smaller boats don't need trim tabs even more than the mid-sized ones do. My boat is not...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

After having read the last few posts I remembered how easy it is to forget our good fortune. Sometimes I get a little down cruising this site because so many of you have the Puget Sound at your' doorstep. I spent 9 years, full time in the dive industry and know what you have up there. We, on the...

Considering a C-dory as my first boat

The boat can handle it with adequate horsepower. I believe the problem will simply be available space. The 19' Angler seems to fit your' needs better. A used 22' A/C may be a better buy, and easier to find. Our boat is perfect for us right now, I suspect we will have to make a change in the next...

Considering a C-dory as my first boat

16 Cruiser, Honda 50 with permatrim, 11.1x13 prop, fuel, fishing gear, cooler, 2 adults (combined weight-300 lbs), 2 kids (combined weight-100 lbs), 45 lbs of ground tackle (in bow), battery and fuel in stern. 4500 rpm to plane, and will then stay on plane down to 4000-4100 rpm in calm water...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

C-squirt took us out to watch the Rufus, OR fireworks on the 4th of July on the Columbia River and again today on the John Day River to catch blue gills. Not quite as big as Jassmatic's catch, but we had fun. Funny, it took forever to put the recomended 20 hrs on the motor to break it in and now...

    Outboard Expert: Ethanol Alert!

Well I will just re-arange my life to occomodate 15% ethanol. I will let the weeds grow to save my trimmer, I will stop watering the yard and pasture to save my mower and UTV, I will have a cold house this winter to save my chainsaw, I will have leaves covering my brown lawn so I don't destroy...

    Interesting question - C-Dory Warranty

Dear Sea Sport, I sense that this topic is on the verge of becoming, shall we say somewhat ugly. The motto here is "no rules-just be nice". Help us out with some feed back before we break our own rules.
