Hello M4Boots;
Thanks for the helpful information. I am going to use some of your suggestions. Do you work for Parks Canada? I retired from Canadian Wildlife Service. I'd like to see your boat someday.
Many Thanks Again!

Just got my new ConTrollKing and was wondering what is the best route to run the cable and where to place the controller? My kicker is on the port side ( opposite side of my battery compartment] on my 22' Angler. Also what is the recommended route to run power to the controller...
There were several references to kicker throttle control using a ControllKing. Is the Trollmaster as good or better product? What about relative price? I am looking to purchase and install a throttle control on my Honda 8 hp trolling motor and would appreciate some pro and con comments.
Thanks...
If one is planning on using the the GPS on a 3G, Google Earth, Navionics etc as outlined by Pat A. How much memory should one purchase on an I-Pad, 16, 32 or 64 GB for satisfactory operations?

So why is this bad elf GPS add on necessary? I though the I-Pad 3G with the appropriate apps would provide me with quality highway GPS and marine charting capabilities? I thought my decision was do I buy a discounted I-Pad or do I buy the $800.00 I-Pad 2?

Dreamer;
Thanks for the heads-up. I needed some SS hardware for a removable SS pipe I want to install in the motor well as part of a cooler stand. Good deals!

Thanks for all the good info, I'm sold on a I-Pad with 3G. But from what I have gleaned lately from the press and C-Brat Gurus I am going to wait for the 2011 I-Pad, which should be in Canada this summer.
Cheers!

Thanks for all the good info. I was able to track down some impressive GPS/plotter apps for the I-Pad. Something I am still not clear on, does the I-Pad actually use satellites or cell phone towers for its navigation? I spend time on the Douglas Channel near Kitimat, BC and we are usually out...
Folks;
I get the impression that some C-Brats are using the I-Pad as a GPS and a chart plotter. Where can I get more specific information on the GPS capabilities of the I-Pad? Can the I-Pad replace a Garmin auto/marine GPS?
Thanks!

Tug;
Have you checked out the SS boarding ladders sold by Princess Auto? I got a bow ladder and a boarding ladder for my boat for a little over $100.00.

It also depends on what is preferred and available in your area. I know cannon makes an excellent rigger but in our area all we have for parts and service is Scotty and very little in terms of Cannon.
I have a 1995 Angler that is green and ivory in color, can someone tell me the name and code of the "ivory" gel-coat on my boat. Also where in Canada can I source gel-coat repair material.
Thanks!

I have never been to Bella Coola, but am also interested in launching there. Some of my contacts have said the road and particularly the hills can be a challenge especially during inclement weather. I will be interested in following the responses to your query.
cheers!

Marc;
I do a lot of trailering of my 22' Angler. What would you recommend as a motor support for my Honda 90 that may be readily available in Canada? Would a piece of solid oak suffice?
Thanks!

El and Bill;
Very good info and review, I may take the plunge and get an Iphone 4 in the near future. Unfortunately the areas where I frequent (Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Bella Bella) do not have very good cell phone coverage making some of the marine apps useless.
Thanks;

Hi Rob;
What you have indicated would seem to backup some earlier suggestions that the motor is running too cold at idle. I think i am going to try the hotter plugs and new thermostat before looking at a new carb. The Honda shop has told me they have cleaned and adjusted the carb three times...
Larry;
It is a cloud of carbon dust that is emitted. Oil on water produces a multi-color sheen. This emission is definitely not oil but black carbon soot particles. Did a compression test and the compression was very good. The shop has looked at the carb twice could they be overlooking the...
