    06/26 - 06/28 - Columbia River/Warrenton Sturgeon

C-Dawg, I don't know how good the crabbing is down there but I may throw a pot in myself. Crab season opens mid June in area 13 though. We will be hitting them here for the week or two prior to this event. NOTE TO ALL. Please do enter yourself in the event signups section so we have a good...

    A Giant OOOOHHHPPS today

"tree hugger, nuclear free zone and environmental whacko type" Ha ha!!! I resemble that remark! I likes my fish to have no more than two eyes and when the Orca are gone, I will be sad. Funny story though.

    06/26 - 06/28 - Columbia River/Warrenton Sturgeon

It looks like we are shifting to this date. More folks on the water but more fish in the river and TyBoo can make it. As soon as I figure out how I will set up a sign up and change the heading for this thread so it does not confuse.

    Tire Cost

Jeez Roger give Pat a break. Those tires are not cool at all. And come to think of it, when you buy new tires it's a great time to dress up that truck with some custom wheels. Heck, throw a pub logo on the door and it's all a big tax deduction. :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer...

    New Electronics Cabinet

Nice story, but the cabinet is really nice. If you make up five sets of parts for the 22 and 25 you will have to change your name to: "David the Electronics Cabinet / helm hub guy" Sign me up.

    06/26 - 06/28 - Columbia River/Warrenton Sturgeon

Per TyBoo, salmon rods are Med, Med heavy and heavy right? He says to use a heavy and a salmon reel with 25-30lb line. The leader is 100lb dacron. You use a slider and pyramid drop weight. The idea is that the really big fish will run out a hundred yards and sit in the mud. you want to break the...

    06/26 - 06/28 - Columbia River/Warrenton Sturgeon

I just checked with the marina and they have plenty of space at the end of June as well. So now we just need to know tides and see if TyBoo Mike can get all his motors rewound, belts repaired, parts degunked and so on, so he can come out and play.

    06/26 - 06/28 - Columbia River/Warrenton Sturgeon

So how about the 26,27 & 28th of June? Are the tides more to liking and are their more fish in the river? If we go to all this effort, place our bets so to speak, then we want the best odds we can get, right?

    New Lazarette Covers

Joel, does the same company make a like cover that has a lock? Do they have a website? The main reason I would make the change is to gain a lock to secure my battery switch on one side and my storage on the other.

    06/26 - 06/28 - Columbia River/Warrenton Sturgeon

How does June 5th, 6th and 7th sound. If we go for these dates we will get into town on the 4th and hope to fish at least two of the three days depending on tide and wind conditions. I spoke with the Warrenton Marina and they have room over this period. Costs are $15/night +$4 for power +$5 for...

Raymarine C70 or new C90 Widescreen

Yup, that C90W is a nice upgrade even from a year ago.

    06/26 - 06/28 - Columbia River/Warrenton Sturgeon

At the recent Cathlamet gathering the idea of holding a c-brat gathering in June near the mouth of the Columbia was talked about in connection with a chance to Sturgeon fish near the mouth of the river. This has long been a goal of mine and in talking with Tyboo Mike, it was suggested that I...

Raymarine C70 or new C90 Widescreen

My recommendation would be that you look at the C120 if you want to be able to read all three screens. As for the energy, you will be using the screen when you are running so this should never be an issue. Even my 9.9 puts out more juice than the c 120, vhf and stereo combined, so that is not...

Cruising with a baby on board

Lizzy, your comments should be considered. Still, you have an open cabin and the question comes from a 22 owner with an enclosed cabin. Kathleen and I had a 65 mustang convertable when our son was born. He loved car rides but would cry his eyes out in the mustang. Small babies do not like wind...

    New Lazarette Covers

Dave, if one of us here in WA, buys a box of 10, it should be easy to find 5 boat owners interested and we could all but avoid the shipping cost. I may be interested, depending upon what the underside looks like. I have a tight clearance issue for a propane tank. Also, it would be nice to see if...

Cruising with a baby on board

Re life jackets, I expect you get a pass on those in terms of the law, so long as the young child is secured in a car seat or in your arms. Once that little one starts walking then you need to start shopping.

Cruising with a baby on board

The cabin wall behind the aft dinette seat is a little less than 1" thick and as a result is a very good place to install some sort of eye to secure a strap to using 3/4" screws. In my 22 with the forward facing seat option, the teak added just below the cushions on the table side, has a slot...

    05/08 - 05/10 - Friday Harbor, WA

As for the C-Dawg "Shrimp blend" all I can say is this: It may catch shrimp, but if C-Dawg brings stew to the pot luck, just walk away. Capital Sea is sad to report :cry that we will: NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE THE FRIDAY HARBOR GATHERING THIS YEAR as result of business and work conflicts...

    SHRIMPING 2009

C-Dawg, a friend of mine who does a bunch of shrimp and cod fishing up in the islands gave me these coordinates last year: Cod 48 36 010 123 04 560 and shrimp 48 37 430 123 02 870 He gives good advice as a rule.

    Anchor Locker Drain

My post should have read plastic not spastic. The material I used was a little thicker than the white board material, but both should hold up for ever. I am told that these materials do not bond 100% with epoxy and this is why I dis a total overlay after the board was secured in place. Best of...
