    anchoring overnight

What you describe is using a tandem anchor. The Rocna anchor, for example, has a dedicated attachment point located forward on the shank for this purpose. A second anchor is set about a boat-length ahead of the primary anchor, its rode terminating at the attachment point of the first. The two...

    05/13 - 05/17 - 7th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza

The best dinner of the cruise no doubt was at the Duck Club hosted by John and Robbin. They cooked some prime beef in a vertical semi-circular duodenum rolled steel plate smoker that produced an incredible entre. Thank you! In addition to Pounder Jim and Kath who did a great job at making...

This sequence of photos chronicles our day on Saturday which was highlighted by going out through the Golden Gate. During our approach to Sausalito on Friday, the conditions were not looking good for going out at that time: We continued on to the marina: When a C-Brat helps you dock, he...

Might have to let my Ranger 25 go!

I agree. Sometimes a premium price is worth it. You get a boat that is thoroughly worked over and upgraded, making it ready to go with confidence; a boat that will serve you well for a lifetime.

Jim, that comment really strikes a chord with me. I can hardly wait for next week! Roger - The true home port for Sea Skipper is Lopez, so I envy you and your cohorts who are heading to your appointed rendezvous. I'll be joining you guys up there eventually. We'll hoist one, for sure!

Jim - Thanks for your time and effort in organizing this event! Mary & I will be at the ramp between 1000 and 1100. Oh, and Sea Skipper will be there, too. :thup

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

When I prepared Sea Skipper for winter storage on Lopez last fall, I filled the gas tank when the air temp was about 60F and the gas temp was perhaps 55F or less but did not fill to the point of discharge from the overflow valve. Fast forward to today in Danville, CA where the air temp rose to...

    05/13 - 05/17 - 7th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza

Thanks, Jim. Sea Skipper is now in Danville and is being prepared for the event after a long winter lay-up on Lopez. So far the engines and systems are checking out fine, and we should be in good shape for next month's cruise. We're looking forward to meeting up with everyone!

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

After seven months in winter storage on Lopez, today I removed the cover and prepped the boat and trailer for towing down to Danville beginning tomorrow, so watch for Sea Skipper heading south on Hwy 5. I hope to see a lot of C-Brats on the road and standing on the overpasses waving and...

    05/13 - 05/17 - 7th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza

Jim - My wife Mary & I have signed up to join the expedition from start to finish. Sea Skipper is currently parked on Lopez but I'm planning to bring her down in early April. The boat will remain here for the foreseeable future so I consider the extravaganza to be a great opportunity to gain...

    Ooops

For those who use an IR sensor, can you give us an idea of what a normal temp is and what an abormally high temp is for the wheel bearings, tires, etc?

    Ooops

Since there haven't been a lot of photos posted, here are a few more to help people visualize two of the things discussed in this thread; the bow eye tie down and the transom tie down. You will notice some deficiencies, which I will describe. These photos are from my CD25 with King trailor...

    Winter rail project almost finished.

I think that is an incredible piece of work. It doesn’t matter what some people might think or wonder about it, and truly, that is a part of its appeal in my opinion. That structure is a work of art in addition to its practical applications. I like it.

    Table over transom

What you describe sounds similar to what was done on Sea Skipper by Hank Brooks: However, the splashwell dam is not removable but the rail is: He also fashioned a nifty dinette table for the cockpit: More photos of these items are in his Sea Skipper album (not in mine with the same name).

Well, it's either that or it's dripping melted sunlight. Depends on how bended one's mind is.

What did you see at the boat show?

I can vouch for the integrity of the IMC folks because they are storing my boat on their premises and they are taking very good care of it while I am 850 miles away. They provide me with piece of mind. That's good news about their carrying the Alaska series because I am considering a...
