    Gas Tank and Bilge Cover

My boat had two fiberglass plates that were screwed into the lip of the splash well and screwed into the step in the cockpit shoe. This leaked water into the bilge. I patched the screw holes and have just left the gas tank covers off. Is there a reason to cover the tanks other than looks?

    22’ Cruiser Air Draft

The C-Dory web site lists 9'1" for the height on trailer for a CD-22, if that helps.

Need Quick Help on Weight of CD22 on trailer

My CD22 with dual axle steel trailer, 90 hp Suzuki, and kicker, gas tanks half full weighed 4100 lbs.

    05/13 - 05/16 - Friday Harbor CBGT 2021

Is there room for another newbie? Sounds like a great get-together. I dread the thought of trailering through Seattle so I would like to start south of there. Is there a good launch and a place to leave a truck and trailer on Hood Canal?

    Water in Steps

I had a similar problem on my 22' cruiser. It came with optional larger and taller steps that fit over the standard molded in steps. They were screwed down and 'sealed' with some kind of adhesive. I decided to remove them as they seemed to take up too much precious cockpit room -- always in...

    Install fresh water wash down

I recently added a fresh water wash down in my CD22 that seems to work well. When I bought the boat it had a non-functioning raw water wash down system, the sea cock was not marine rated and the handle had corroded away. The pump was mounted low on the transom between the two gas tanks, it had...

How tall is a 2004 22' Cruiser on an EZ loader?

Ouch! I live in rural SW Oregon and, while land use planning is pretty strict, permits for my boat house were a little over $300 total and inspections were quite cursory. I did everything to code, supposedly that building will survive the 'anticipated' Cascadia earth quake -- which my 1920 farm...

How tall is a 2004 22' Cruiser on an EZ loader?

My 22' Cruiser came with a 'custom' radar tower with and anchor light above which made it to just over 10' so I had to go with a 12' door on my boat house (too many boats or, as a friend puts it, I'm boat poor . . .). Well, the high walls meant I had to have building engineered to get a permit...

We are looking to add fishing rod holders and rack.

I have a rod rack for sale that I removed from my 22' cruiser. It was mounted on the roof just forward of the cockpit and consists of a stainless steel arch and 6 stainless steel (or chromed brass -- not sure) vertical rod holders.

Ford F150 or Toyota Tundra or ???

Thanks for all the responses! I will test drive both trucks. On the ford, I hear a lot about the eco-boost 6 cylinder with turbo. Does anyone have experience towing with that engine?

Ford F150 or Toyota Tundra or ???

I've been towing my CD22 cruiser with an old Toyota Tacoma and am looking for a new tow vehicle. The Ford F150 and Toyota Tundra look good to me. I've heard the Tundra is more reliable but the F150 gets slightly better mileage. Any advice out there in C-Brat land before I take the plunge?

Cabin interior and cabin deck paint

Thanks Bob and Ferg, I've been meaning to start an album, so I'd better get to it. I'm doing lots of projects on the boat that I should post. Great work for these times. The paint is lifting off the inside of the hull which is the floor of the cabin, kind of an off-white / pale tan color...

Cabin interior and cabin deck paint

Much of the original paint has flaked off the cabin deck of my 2008 22' cruiser. It has also flaked off the wall in few spots. What is the recommended paint to replace it? The original is flat and appears to have been put on fairly thick.

    Primer bulb location

Thanks all, mine are going in the splash well. And I won't worry about the bulb sitting level. Several years ago I was having a fuel problem on my jet boat. One mechanic tried to blame my horizontal primer bulb (check valve not seating properly). The real problem was a sticky piston in the low...

    Primer bulb location

My fuel filter/water separator on my C22 is located in the bilge between the fuel tanks (along with lots of other stuff that shouldn't be there). I plan to move it to the void above the starboard fuel tank. That seems like a protected place with easy enough access. My question is where should...

Bulkhead under V berth tabbing separating from hull

Thanks all, I will post some photos as I do work. I may wait for the weather to warm a bit first!

Bulkhead under V berth tabbing separating from hull

My 22' cruiser has 3 hatches in the V berth. When I inspect inside the forward compartment, the fiberglass tape used to 'tab' the bulkhead to the hull has separated from the hull. It appears to me (with little expertise in this area) that the factory did not adequately prep/clean the hull before...

    C-Brat Wanna-be to C-Brat New-be

I joined C-Brats about a year ago as a Wanna-be, dreaming of cruising as I drifted toward retirement. Now I'm a C-Brat New-be, I just bought a 2008 22' Cruiser. I want to thank all of you who have shared your vast knowledge in these Forums. Lots of great advice that helped me find the boat of...
