    SOLD - 1998 16’ C Dory Cruiser Asking $10,995

Not enough time available to be on the water. School and work are eating every available moment. It is tortuous to have the water, dock, and boat in the back yard; yet not the available free time to utilize the asset. So I am going to sell my 16 Cruiser and be boat-less for the next 18-24...

    Tip for Southern boaters

I keep about 3 feet of weed eater string on-board just for the occasion of a blocker outlet tube. It has saved me several times over the years. Works like a plastic drill bit through most anything clogging the tube.

    drilling in cockpit of CD16Cruiser

I understand not wanting to remove it. I made another "path" through the foam because I store a Cajun anchor and 1 spare rod in the port side "chase". I didn't want wiring and storage items sharing the some space if it was preventable.

    drilling in cockpit of CD16Cruiser

FYI It really isn't that difficult to drill out the rivets that hold the port side coaming. Then you could run whatever you want, install whatever you want, and make another access port to run future wiring needs. Then you can drill, epoxy, and screw it back in place. As I said, obviously it...

    drilling in cockpit of CD16Cruiser

I moved all of my electric (2 batteries, battery switches, on-board charger) under the port side passenger seat. I know that isn't your project, but to do so, I had to run wiring down the port side. I ran an electrical fish down the port side, then pulled my wires from aft to the port...

    raising the seat

That west marine seat is an excellent idea. I seriously thought about it before I purchased the Garelick swivel slide seat mount!

    raising the seat

I purchased these for my 16 Cruiser. Garelick 3100360 Tru-Lock 1000 Low Profile Surface Mount Boat Seat Swivel / Slide. They raised the seat about 3 inches, have swivel with 8 position lock, and 6 inch slide adjustment. $99.95 each...

    camper back questions

I had one built like the one "Sea Wolf" posted above. It is on a 16 Cruiser. It was welded by a local welder, and the sunbrella cut and installed by a local marine upholstery shop. The total was $1200.00 and we love it. Plenty of room fishing, and well protected when raining while underway...

    Stainless Motorwell protective bar

Stainless steel schedule 40 from a pipe wholesaler, stainless steel plating, and a local welder would the the cheaper than "West Marine". At least around my area.

Hull Value of a 1998 Cruiser

Well my skinny water fishing addiction is acting up again. I am looking at putting my 2011 50hp E Tech on a 17 foot flats boat, and selling Sweet Pea's hull. Any ideas of the value of a 16 Cruiser Hull? The boat is in excellent condition for a 1998. Pictures are in my Photo Album on this site...

    Same boat, different capacity

All I really was saying is, BMI is a tool, not an end all discussion on obesity. Just some FYI. My part time job is Charter Boat Operator. My full time job is a Respiratory Therapist. Prior to relocating back to my home state of MS (to be near the “Salt Life” again) I ran a Sleep Lab in Western...

    Same boat, different capacity

I am not knocking that our US population as a whole is much “larger/over weight” than in decades past. But, I do not agree with the measurements that are used to determine such “Health” factors. Do some research on the “Height/Weight” charts that are still currently being used and you will find...

    Fish Identification

I use/used the web based fish identification from rodnreel.com for a long time. But once when I really needed it I was too far off shore for cell reception. That is when I decided to buy the book.

    Fish Identification

The name of the book is "Anglers Guide to Fishes of the Gulf of Mexico". The authors are Jerald Horst and Mike Lane. The book is fully illustrated by Duane Raver. It is the most comprehensive, current publication out there. Here is the link to the web based Fish Identifier as well as the book...

You can go to rod n reel .com and use their fish identifier program. Free, very extensive, and great pictures with decriptions. Then you can print those pages you want.

Got one at the house that I take out when running charters. I will get the name this evening and post it. It covers everything in the Gulf of Mexico and then some!

    sun shade

Had the factory Bimini on my 16, but felt it got in the way. Had this made and it really works great. Still haven't tired the side curtains in yet. On the "To Do List", maybe January or February. The factory Bimini can be ordered from "King Marine Canvas". Original Factory Bimini (side...

dual engines on a C-16 Cruiser

I actually explored the Armstrong Bracket (positive flotation). I had one on one of my center console boats. But the overall cost would have made more sense to sell and move up to a 19 or 22 where twins would be more practical. If the 16 Cruiser would have been rated for a 60, I would have...
