    Boat cover/Protection during transit

Good catch! I thought I recalled those being wrapped as they ended up in FL.

    Boat cover/Protection during transit

For what its worth, I think C-Dory ships new boats from HQ to dealers in shrink wrap. Never know what road conditions one might encounter when traveling cross country. As for the cover. I am giving this a shot first: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KG ... UTF8&psc=1 Angola's look really...

Honda 90 (carb) starting tips needed

Are you getting pressure at the fuel bulb? Honda's are strange in that sometimes you have to hold the bulb and face the arrow up (towards the sky) on the bulb... That solved a lot of my "hard starting" issues.

What boat would you move up to?

Those are so nice. We are moored next to a newer one in Kingston. It definitely jumped up my list of dream boats. Any idea on price? I was guessing at least 300K…

Did I just fry my boat electronics?!

Thanks all, case closed. It was the 30 amp fuse that appears to go between the battery and the battery selector. Appreciate the responses on this late Sunday evening.

Did I just fry my boat electronics?!

Hi All, On a trip here at the Port of Kingston. My dad drove 4 hours from eastern Washington to join me for some Area 9 fishing. As we were cleaning the boat something happened to the boat electronically, but I’m not sure what. I think it started when my hand accidentally bumped both wipers and...

    I need an insurance company

I have USAA for home/auto, and Progressive on the boat. I think USAA contracts with Progressive for boats. But the main reason I went with Progressive is because of the "agreed value". I got a better rate going through a broker than through the Progressive website FYI.

    Towing a 22 Cruiser with a Toyota Tacoma ?

I tow a 2006 Cape Cruiser 23 Venture with a V6 Tacoma (the Venture weights roughly 1000lbs more than a 22 I think). As long as you have an adequate breaking system (truck + trailer) you should be fine.

    Towing a 22 cruiser

So we just bought our Venture 23 (by my math im roughly 5k fully loaded) and I tow with a 2010 4.0 Double Cab Tacoma 4x4. I think ive towed it probably 100 miles so far. It gets around ok, we have EOH brakes which helps a lot. As far as suspension my truck was already lifted before the boat. I...

Scallywag on YouTube. Repairs, Upgrades and Adventures.

John, I appreciate your videos and learn a lot from them. We plan to do the V-berth hatches at some point too, so thank you for sharing those. Best of luck and maybe we'll bump into each other at Nootka one of these summers if you go back.

    Down Rigger Questions

Another vote for Burnewiin, we are about ready to install some on our Venture 23. They seem very sturdy and versatile. You can search Burnewiin on Youtube to see their offerings in detail. Daybreak, where are your electrical sockets mounted for the downriggers?

    Mounting Downrigger Hardware Advice

I believe it goes gunnel straight into the cockpit, but ill be sure to check. Yes we plan to use the mounts to attach both downriggers and rod holders. Our plan is to have the boat for the next 20 years or so (only 30 now), so we will go the epoxy route. My experience with epoxy is limited, and...

    Mounting Downrigger Hardware Advice

Thank you all for the replies. A couple follow up questions if I could ask: When filling the void in the gunnel with epoxy what do I put below/under the gunnel to keep the epoxy from running through? Would duct tape do the trick? Also I did purchase the backing plate. But if I were to make a...

    Mounting Downrigger Hardware Advice

Hello, We recently purchased a Caper Cruiser 23', and are trying to get it prepped for the upcoming fishing season. We purchased Burnewiin Mounts to place on the gunnels. My questions are: 1. When drilling the 4 screw holes for the gunnel mount. Should I be using the technique where I drill a...

SOLD - 06 Cape Cruiser Venture 23 for sale.

Thank you and very cool design! I like the adjustability and ease of getting to them. My wife is shorter and I am wondering how she will get to the rods if we go the radar arch route. But this may work. Our boat came with twin 50 honda's. Looking forward to learning all the in's and outs of...

    North Seattle Marine Surveyors

We purchased a CC 23 in October 2020 and used Wayne Gilham and Garrett Polehonka of Flow Design Inc. http://flowdesignsurvey.com/ They were very knowledgeable of the C-Dory/CC line of boats and did a great job.
