    Pumped some sh*t yesterday!

I agree that the Edson pump is overkill for the job, but ..... I like it. :) Warren -- I can't do pictures yet -- coming soon. The simple, but high quality, diaphragm pump is mounted on a board as shown. Hose -- leak proof attachments -- between boat and pump and between pump and dump...

    Pumped some sh*t yesterday!

Hi Doug -- Based on our experience with the Edson, I can highly recommend it. One of my favorite ways to rationalize an expensive purchase is to look at it in terms of cost per year. :) This pump and its accessories will outlast me. Using it is very easy and very sanitary. An adapter, for...

    Frequent Sea underway

Bob -- I've really enjoyed your accounts of your trip. Thank you! Charlie -- I thought I was the only one who did that. Actually, I do it both ways. "Oh,no! Where's the boat?" And with the 2500 Duramax, I often forget the boat is there and it's a glance in the mirror and a startled "What...

    Outboard Expert: Ethanol Alert!

Joe -- This Iowa Boy says you are ---- TOTALLY RIGHT! You forgot a couple of consequences/absurdities. The run-off with all the fertilizers and chemicals we use to grow that fuel-corn flows down the Mississippi and contributes to devastating effects in the Gulf. Also, the production of one...

    Interesting question - C-Dory Warranty

Hi Charlie, We bought our boat from the Outboard Motor Shop in Oakland, CA. Bill and the crew there are top notch. Later, we got to know Marc and the crew at Wefings, and you are right about their being top notch. We love doing business with both of them and hope that doing business the...

    Interesting question - C-Dory Warranty

What Roger said, plus what Lyle said. This is a fantastic owners' site, and what I have learned and continue to learn is priceless. However, if I were a dealer or C-Dory or SeaSport, this site would seem more often than not a mixed blessing or a necessary evil or a pain in the ass. Reading...

    Interesting question - C-Dory Warranty

I hope this discussion of warranty is moot. It seems there have been very few major hull problems with the C-Dory. And as has been noted here, many of the boats' major components are actually under warranty with the manufacturer. I often have occasion to say to my wife, "premature and out...

    Flaming Gorge ?

Hi Jim, Thanks for pointing us to the Flaming Gorge pages in the Wild Blue thread. I knew you guys had been there and was hoping you would pipe in. Your pictures and comments have us pretty excited. I appreciate the info about the camp docks. It points us in the right direction for...

    Holding Tank Pumpout & Vent

Place the hose and pump. The holding tank is vented to the side of the boat near your pump out cap. Greg

    Flaming Gorge ?

Thanks for the mussel inspection info. Is this new? We did not do this at Tahoe in June of 2007. Greg

    Flaming Gorge ?

Nancy and I are headed back to SFB late July/early August. Our plan is to spend some time on Flaming Gorge and Tahoe on the trip out. Any Flaming Gorge insights/comments/advice on anything from anchoring out/marinas/supplies/etc. will be appreciated and put to good use. Given our route, we...

    Stern rail CD-25

The Les-designed, Railmakers, NW-built stern rail for the 25 is great. I discovered it in Seahooked's album and Chris pointed me to David at Railmakers. I have connected mine to the boat's factory stern rails to further stabilize it for the Magma Catalina grill. A by-product was an arm rest...

    Pumpout - how often ?

We spend a lot of time living on the boat. With normal usage, we go around three to four days between pumpouts. When in a marina and using head only for urination with limited flush water, I think we often go ten or more days. Regards, Greg

    How NOT to tow...

Tom -- Two of our kids live in the SFB area, so we have driven I-80 from Iowa to SF for a dozen years. Over those years Nancy and I have called Battle Mountain, NV, the armpit of the world. We loved it a few years ago when their misguided Chamber of Commerce capitalized on their obvious...

You have got to see this repair job....

In response to Jim and localboy, I knew a guy -- not his neighbor's brother's sister's dog -- no myth -- I actually knew a guy who was cutting a sheet of plywood on his pool table with a circular saw. He reached under to be sure he was not cutting the pool table. His carefulness cost him two...

    Drybunk

Warren -- Aquamat is a 1'x1' tile like the Dri-Dek West Marine sells. I picked it up at Boaters' World just because I happened to see it in the store when we were in Key Largo experiencing a lot of condensation. I think the Dri-Dek is a little heavier and possibly better quality. The Aquamat...

    Drybunk

Once I recognized how wet it was getting under the v-berth cushions, I installed Aquamat tiles to create an air space under the cushions. It does not prevent condensation, but it keeps the cushions dry and allows the hard surface to dry without mildew forming. We are happy with the results...

    interesting boat

North Pacific Yachts should have a trailerable -- true 8'6" -- 28' pilothouse cruiser this August -- at least in the event that the bad economy doesn't interfere somehow. Their website projects a boat in the water at a Seattle in-water show in September. An artist's rendering can be found at...

    Doryman's Meanderings

So did the crew from Washington notice that those nice floating docks at Water Street are a Bellingham product? And here's another plug for Tamara's. You won't be sorry. Greg
