    Camp Lejeune

Not surprised that I'll have to pay. As I told you, I thought about going into the Navy but when I told the recruiter that my parents were married at my birth he told me that I wasn't qualified. Had to join the Marines instead. See you in San Dog and I'll buy. Fair winds and following seas...

    25' Boat Prices

There is a new Ranger 25 with the Cummins 150 for sale in Anacortes, Wa for 125k with trailer. It is well equipped and has a trailer. I'm considering it but leanning towards a C Dory 25. If anyone is interested they should look into this. It's a great deal.

Don and I have made up. Turns out we are brothers in the Navy/Marine Corp team. He wanted to kiss but being a Marine I had to draw the line. Semper Fi Don, I look forward to seeing you at a gathering.

    Tow Vehicle F150

I have a 2007 F150 4x4 with the small v8 but with the towing package. I pulled a C Dory 22 from Tampa to Oak Harbor, Wa with no problems other than it got about 10 mpg. The truck handles the load well. In fact there is no doubt that this truck would pull the C Dory 25 just as well. The...

    2009 C-Brats Gatherings/Cruises

I'm in Oak Harbor, Wa. Is anyone going to Lake Powell or Friday Harbor this year? My wife and I rented a houseboat on Lake Powell one year and it was great but now we have a C Dory and I'd love to join you. We went to Lopez Is in Sept and had a great time. Anyone in the PNW that wants to go...

We are thinking about a 22 cruiser. Anyone with ideas.

Here's my 2 cents. I bought one last year. I live on Whidbey Island, Wa. I've owned boats my whole life, both sail and power. Every boat is a compromise. But when you take cost, quality, safety and useability into consideration, you can't go wrong with a C Dory. They aren't as well...

What Should I Know Before Buying a Boat?

Here's my take. If you are married then you obviously want to enjoy the boat with your wife. For her to enjoy a boat it needs to be safe, dry and comfortable. You need an enclosed cabin, a place for her to change clothes and relax and you need a head of some sort. Trust me, your time on the...

    Camp Lejeune

Dusty, You are probably right. I guess I just have a short fuse regarding this issue. As a retired Marine and with a wife currently flying combat missions in Iraq and my son back there on his 3rd tour I suppose I just take things a little to personally. That's why I normally just keep my...

    Camp Lejeune

Well, Don, I've been retired a long time and I usually avoid these conversations but I have to say "really"? You want to make political comments on the C Brat site? I've found that usually people who like taking "cheap shots" at Marines really wanted to be one and didn't have the b---s. And...

    Camp Lejeune

I was at Camp Lejeune from 77-82 and my son grew up there. Now he is a Gunny stationed there. The Marine Corps is contacting everyone that ever lived in base housing and is maintaining a study and a data base for us all. So far the only problem that I have experienced is that I keep buying...

    C-Dory Problems

I have a C Dory 22 and am considering moving up to a 25. Has anyone done this and if so what are your feelings on the subject? Was the result worth the cost? Are there any drawbacks?

    Plumbing help

Has anyone built a head compartment on a C Dory 22? I'm talking with Gold Star Marine in Port Townsend, Wa and they can build one behind the cabin in the cockpit but I'm wondering what other people have done.

    Flexing of the cabin

I have noticed that even in 1 to 2 foot chop the sides of the cabin between the deck and cabin top visibly vibrate and flex as the boat hits the bottom of the wave, similiar to the way a 1/4" piece of plywood would do if you held it on each side and shook it back and forth.

    Flexing of the cabin

I posted this message but it didn't seem to come up. I have a 1999 C Dory 22 and the cabin seems to flex alot in moderate seas. Does anyone else have this problem?
