    My understanding wife

We have found that painting a PVC dinghy with PVC paint works well as UV protection and has extended the lives of our dinghys. Our current paint, Buoy Coat, other than being slow to dry has been the best and most economical one yet.

  8. Dana on the beach at Calita Partida cove. Sierra is in the background by far the smallest of the dozen boats in the anchorage, Dana was totally loving the looks and Portuguese bridge style of the big twin 800hp diesel Fleming 65 anchored outside of us! (Sorry no photo). The cheap Taiwan trawlers with the loud generators going all day drove us crazy. We are so used to the silence of our solar system.

Parent company of RAYMARINE, selling it off

Garmin buying Navionics has hurt the charts, I hope Raymarine was revamped enough before the sale to give Garmin a run for their money. I hope it's not another wall street profit money shuffle like the west Marine deal.

    Yamaha vs Suzuki

Hi Kirk, I have a photo album "Sierra's Baja Adventure " that comes up over on the left side of the home page, I have added more captions to the photos than seems common in order to document Baja, towns, anchorages, Sierra, the watermaker and the Suzuki. Thanks for the link to the guage.

    Yamaha vs Suzuki

Back to the original thred, we have a question about reprogramming our C-10 Suzuki smart guage. We checked out authorized dealers in La Paz and found one a block and a half away. Suzuki seems to have become the dominant brand checking transoms down here. The big 100 footer next to us, Mexican...
  12. A C-brat asked about Suzuki dealers in Mexico. There may be more than Yamaha down here, this is an authorized Suzuki dealer a block and a half from our marina. Unfortunately they are not familiar with our C-10 smart guage programming, I think they only sell the simple Suzuki gauge set here. Suzuki\'s are everywhere on the water down here, at home our closest authorized dealer is a couple hours drive away.

    Radar arch?

Almost any local marine metal fab shop can come and measure your boat and make you a great arch, it may not be the cheapest but most do great work.

    Yamaha vs Suzuki

Skydog, thanks for the back info. As for favorite C-dory we came from a big sailboat to a 25 Ranger Tug so we don't know the smaller C-dorys but compared to the extra towing weight, trailer length, deeper draft at launch and basic simplicity we like our older 25 CD as I am a fixer upper type and...

New guy with electrical config question?

Yes K.I.S.S. is good, that is why I took out the 1, 2 both off switch and put in separate house, start, switches with an ACR. With the separate combine switch you can bypass anything that fails. And you only need to use 1 channel of a really good charger which is easy to keep track of with a...

    Yamaha vs Suzuki

Boris, the 29' Ranger Tug was towed with a 1 ton Dodge like mine, not a dually. BUT he said he didn't get the necessary state by state Required wide load permits that can be a real hassle. If you get in a wreck without them your insurance company won't cover you or your liable damage and you...

New guy with electrical config question?

Yes battery side and since I try to keep my batteries balanced as to type and age the start battery downstream has always been charged and kept at the voltage I want it either with the Procharger (which is a pretty sophisticated charger) or the solar, and pretty good with the alternator into the...

New guy with electrical config question?

smckean, I believe I did wire my ACR from the strip of studs that are the first thing that my house and start battery are connected to before my main house and start batterys so they stay balanced. (along with the bilge pumps on the house side). An ACR if I remember correctly does use a few...
