    Anchor Locker Redux

Sorry, let me clarify that I have no windlass and have never used the locker. Unclear how water would get in the locker?

    Anchor Locker Redux

So I've read most all the threads on subject of anchor locker related leaks and still have these questions: 1. Were drain holes a default install at factory pre-1990? 2. How likely are these leaks to be rainwater, as opposed to saltwater, related? My leaks have all been rain water. 3. Does...

    Johnson 8hp Problem

Thanks. I tracked it down to a seized throttle cable. Haven't had to use it in 8 years. Ordered a new cable. Hope I can get all the pieces back together same way. Cable does not budge in its housing.

    Johnson 8hp Problem

Would appreciate assistance from anyone with experience with this 1988 Johnson kicker I still use. It seems to have a stuck throttle grip and I'm not having luck getting the assembly apart to inspect.

    Mystery solved?

As I've posted previously, I've had an ongoing issue with rain water intrusion into cabin. Quite a lot. Anyway, I proceeded to 4200 every thru hull screw, bolt, etc in cabin as well as a loose fresh water vent. Also cleaned out all the window drains. It rained yesterday and so far not a drop in...

    Drain plug

While doing maintenance on 49er, I removed the bilge drain plug and found it rusted and barely if at all functional - maybe why I was getting water in cockpit while under way. It's an expanding rubber and brass plug. Wondering if all of you use same or anything better?

    Transom Bilge Pump

Bob, Wow. I'm not sure what group batteries they are but there is barely few inches back there.

    Transom Bilge Pump

BTW, where are your batteries located?

    Transom Bilge Pump

Batteries are encased in battery boxes. Prior owner mounted metal support over half of sump to hold rear battery. There's no room. I would need to remove that support "shelf" and relocate rear battery.

    Transom Bilge Pump

I'm doing Spring maintenance on 49er and once again looking at installing a pump in transom sump area. And once again I am stumped by lack of space due to dual batteries in the space between fuel tanks. I suppose the only solution would be to relocate at least one battery to the Lazarette. Ideas?

New Honda 90 with all the fixings in 2014 was $11,500 in AK.

    Patching small thru drill holes

I need to plug a few small drill holes above water line (cockpit). Was going to use marine-tex. Should I glass the backside of holes?

    Net stowage

Very nice. I should have also asked for where items can be purchased.

    Net stowage

I'm interested in any clamping/holder configuration you guys use to stow landing nets, boat hooks, etc in cockpit area.
