Do you strap your boat down when trailering?

Secure it please, gravity is not enough to keep the boat on the trailer when things go wrong. I have been next to a 134 ton load going airborne. See above. Consider that in a bad wreck a boat secured to the trailer is one projectile. If they seperate there is double the chance of them...

    Pre FH-CBGT Cruise, May 10-14, 2020

Harvey, this sounds great. I'm not ready to commit yet but will consider it. If we do this flotilla* we'd meet you at Sucia as we like putting in at Bellingham. * Someone clever needs to come up with a catchy name for your annual (see what I did there?) cruise. Steve

    Cockpit drainage - 19

Wow! Close call. Having learned to sail in the Columbia Gorge and gone out in all conditions I arrogantly thought I knew something about waves. The first time I got into the Point Wilson tide rip I may have said 'oh poop' or something similar, I did learn a valuable lesson though. The Gorge

    Cockpit drainage - 19

Bilge pump. I know a non self bailing cockpit can sound sketchy but C-Dorys aren't sinking and the deep, secure cockpit is one reason I like mine.

    Adieu, Paul Priest

At one of the Sequim rendezvous I did some rookie move with the boat and later Paul gently and discretely offered some good advice that I follow still. I liked Verla too. God speed.

    Horn does not work.

FYI how you mount the horn can render it useless. I bought a loud one for a motorcycle but the combination of the horn's and the rubber mount's harmonics canceled the noise from the horn.

    Horn does not work.

I put air horns on my last Harley. When I went down to get my MC endorsement on my Hodaka Wombat the horn didn't work and they would not pass me account of that. Fix it, he said. I went to Coast-To-Coast and bought a bicycle squeeze bulb horn. The examiner didn't like it but it was legal. He...

    Holes in the hull

I know nothing about repairing fiberglass. I do know a bit about stress risers though. Those holes you drilled look to me like tear on the dotted line perforations. Just sayin'.

    Truck for C Dory 25.

Put a high priority on what you do the most, daily driving. That points to a half ton. The F 150 with a MaxTow package is at the top of the 1/2 ton heap. The 3.5 Ecoboost engine is in a class of it's own for more than just it's numbers. We have a first gen 3.5 EB (2013) without a specific tow...

CD19 Angler suitable for day cruising with 4 people

Don't know your budget but if you can find one that fits it the 22 would be more comfortable for two couples.

    Front Center Window Latch Question

Jaxsun Gysbers @advantecglobal.com (1.800.770.0455, ext. 3171) Was able to sell me just the post that broke for $2 each so I ordered two. Shipping will be more but it still beats $65 per kit.

    Front Center Window Latch Question

John, if you don't already have it, Waggoners Cruising Guide for the San Juans ect. is the best one I have seen but then I haven't compared it to anything else for 10 years. I'm just a bit envious that you have fresh seafood off the boat just minutes from home. Yum. If I remember I'll call about...
