    07/16 - 07/18 - Bellingham, WA CBGT

Cruising the San Juan Islands is on my 'bucket list'. So, despite the 1600 mile distance from Phoenix, Diane and I intend to trailer our C-Dory 22 C-View to Bellingham, attend the gathering and spend some time cruising the islands. We've been to the Pacific Northwest with a motorhome, but this...
  2. My solution to the big step in getting in and out of the cockpit. Added a second step attached to tray below gunwale and supported by two vertical members. Wood is purpleheart which is one third price of teak and weathers to look like teak.

  3. New table top - Purpleheart, Mahogany, Maple, Cherry, Oak. Solves 3 issues: 1. Couldn't put old table in or out of berth position without moving seat cushion. New table narrower. 2. Seat and back cushions use same foam thickness, but seats have 3/4" plywood bottom. In berth position, table was too low. New table thicker. 3. Metal edge around old table made picking up playing cards harder.

Replacing Window Gaskets On Older C-Dorys

rcwass - Sorry for the delay in responding. I couldn't convince myself that any of the gaskets on the American Marine site were the correct one. If you get samples and determine that one is correct, please let us know. As I stated in my earlier post, my gaskets looked pretty grungy, but I was...

Replacing Window Gaskets On Older C-Dorys

I faced a similar problem on my 1990 C-Dory, C-View. The gaskets were unsightly and had pulled out of some of the corners. I removed the gaskets - you can just pull them out. The glass is held in place with adhesive/sealant on the inside. The only method I could come up with to clean them...

    wipers

I replaced the blades on my 1990 C-Dory 22' Cruiser just this morning. I have the manual operation wipers. I found Trico 47-800 Break-To-Fit Wiper Blade Refills at Checker Auto. They are 8 mm. Cost was just under $9.00. I have enough rubber left over to replace them another time. Tony

    22' Cruiser Restoration

Tad, Thanks for the info on your fuel tank problems. I believe my tanks are a newer model than yours. They are translucent and thus a fuel guage is not required. When I refilled the tanks I put marks at 5 gallon intervals. The puzzling thing is that I couldn't see anything wrong with the...

    22' Cruiser Restoration

I purchased a used 1990 C-Dory 22' Cruiser in August, 2008. The boat was in usable condition, but needed some work to bring it up to my standards. I'm writing this article as, perhaps, it will give guidance to others who might be contemplating a similar project. I'm recently retired so I've...

    Second Anchor Storage

I have a bow anchor with windlass on C-View which is a 22' Cruiser. I want to carry a second anchor and rode in case I want to deploy one off the stern. I'm thinking about storing it under the floorboards underneath the table, but I'm wondering if other C-Brats have an alternative solution. I...

Window Gasket Material for an Older C Dory

This is an old topic, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents. The window gaskets on my 1990 C-Dory 22' cruiser were pretty ugly looking. I tried every cleaner available to me and nothing worked. I ended up taking out the gaskets. The glass won't fall out as it is held in by an adhesive on the...

    Window Adventures

Part of the restoration of our 1990 C-Dory 22' Cruiser involved replacing the fixed center window with an opening one. With our generally warm (hot) weather in the Phoenix area I was certain that we want as much airflow through the cabin as we can possibly get. I got quotes from...

    No longer lurking

After a couple of years of getting educated by reading this excellent site, we've purchased a C-Dory! My wife and I purchased Ron's 1990 22' Cruiser which he kept at Channel Islands Harbor in California. We picked it up and trailered it down to San Diego, rented a slip over the Labor Day...
