    Vinyl seat repair

Seriously, Greg... I have tried several of those "magic" glues for vinyl/ leather seat repairs. They don't work, because of the flex involved in most areas of a seat.

    Yes, beautiful job!

    newbie needs advice

My first thot on reading your description of the problem was...gas feed. Two years ago, when my CD was the same as yours presently is, I had similar problems, which I put up with until they got worse: the engines started stalling on me. I ended up removing both gas tanks: each had about an...

    08/8 – 08/15 - Western Erie Canal Cruise

To all: Since no one has yet mentioned it, I will, to make sure it is not overlooked: You will need to purchase a NYS Canal Pass for this cruise. Wishing I could come along (I have a seasonal Canal Pass), Wayne

    Sleeping on the Galley?

You will find photos in my Album of several other possibilities. I can use the backboard I built to convert the CD-22 dinette into a "settee" to (1) set up a bunk bed over the settee, or (2) extend the settee into a double bed. I also have found that the double-sized air mattress fits...

    08/8 – 08/15 - Western Erie Canal Cruise

Dear Rick: We have a prior commitment that week. However, we may be able to join you for dinner as you come through the area between Brockport and Lockport. (We'll be at our cottage on L. Ontario ca. 10 miles north of Medina). Fond memories, Wayne

    Bedding

No, we do NOT have four porta-potties in our CD-22: ONLY one! A second one, which we use regularly, we keep in the loft at our cottage, which serves as the "master sleeping area." This spares my wife and me from having to climb down the ladder-like stairs to the bathroom in the middle of the...

    Bedding

We have used porta-potties for years, and presently have four! Handled properly, odor is a non-issue; when odor is detected, it is a signal to empty and put in clean water and fresh chemical deodorant. At night, we move the potti in the aisle to the back of the cabin for a different reason: It...

Calif Property Tax & Your C-Dory

I wish you'all would quit talking about a boat property tax! NY State taxes us on everything they can think of. But they haven't heard of this idea yet. Sshh!

    low power C-Dory/ Marinaut

I'll add my two cents to this discussion. I have a 1999 CD-22 with twin Honda 40's (which I love). Lightly and evenly loaded and with Permatrims, I can get up on plane at 11 mph and hold plane at 9 mph. One engine will do this easily. However, cruising the Erie Canal (where the speed limit...

Moves you don't want to make in your C-Dory

We love our CD for cruising canals. However, in the locks, we learned that the light front end can create problems when thousands of gallons of water come rushing at the boat all at once. The solution (apart from sending someone forward) is to run a line from the front as well as the stern...

    Helm seat overhaul

Wow: nice job! My helm seat (store-bought from Cabelas) also folds flat, and level with the galley top counter. Putting a cutting board on top of the folded seat extends the countertop and gives more space for cooking in, and serving from, the galley...as well as for "setting" other things...

Storing Extra fuel on 22 cruisers

NAKNEK built, for a cruise up the Inland Passage to Alaska, a simple frame to hold five 5 gallon plastic gas containers across the top of the cabin, from rail to rail. I don't find any pics in the album. But you might contact the owner (Casey) for info.

    Draining the water tank?

Has anyone ever tapped into the feed tube between the water tank and pump? Could one install a tee and side tube for draining the tank? Would that work?

A Pleasant Day on the Willamette and Columbia

Y'all name familar places. (We lived in the Jennings Lodge area for 12 years.) I now remember that the last time we visited (2 years ago) that the marine yard had C-Dory's: that was before we got ours. Job changes took us from OC to LA (for 3 years); we have been in Rochester, NY for the past 20.

A Pleasant Day on the Willamette and Columbia

Your account brings back many good memories. More than 20 years ago (pre the C-Dory), we lived on the Williamette in the Jennings Lodge area. We will be making a trip to the PNW in a couple of weeks; we staying at the Rivershore Hotel in Oregon City for two nights.

    Need advice!

I love my CD-22. It is easily trailerable, and I can launch and retrieve it single-handed with ease. The "head" is a porta-potti (the CD-26 has an enclosed room with shower). For heat, I use a Buddy Heater, which works great.
