    Introducing Wild Blue's new owners...

J & J, Thanks for the many years of fun stories, great photos etc. We understand the decision and the mixed emotions that go with it. Hope you will continue your blog and your adventures for many more years, Cheers, Merv & Kathy

    Wagmore

Lovely boat Bill. Had the pleasure of playing with one of those a couple of years ago and was sorely tempted. I guess that settles the single vs twin argument for you :-) Where do the oars fit? Merv

Bringing food into Canada--hope this is the right forum

A better alternative to Pender for shopping is Port Browning. There is a shopping center about 1/2 mile (up the hill) which has just about everything you could need. Its a short and interesting trip via the channel between N and S Pender :-) or you could take a taxi. M

    Pt Townsend Coupeville Ferry

I might just add that there is a good State RV park at the Coupeville ferry end, AND an excellent launch ramp. If you do launch there just watch out for the cross tide at the entrance and the rip which is just N of the entrance at peak ebb. You can park overnight but it is best to let the...

No warning shot across the bow?

Glad to hear that. Y'all (or is that "All Y'all") didn't know it but this thread has been providing the "Admirable" and myself with a fund of material to send daily "cheer-up" messages to a family member who has been struggling with heavy Chemo for the last several months. So, our personal...

    06/13 - 06/14 - Pender Harbour 2014

Amen to that, we always check Bellenas Is. (if you are headed around WG) and Halibut Bank, and for the Puget Sounders, remember the flood tide goes North. Say Hello to my fellow countryman at Fishermans (& remember Welsh is NOT English) M

    06/13 - 06/14 - Pender Harbour 2014

Tom, Yup http://weather.gc.ca/marine/forecast_e. ... teID=14301 Last time I tried that sort of forecast from Nanaimo I damn near ended up in Vancouver before it settled down. You have BIG tides this week so dont try it if wind against tide. M

Converting Reserve Capacity Minutes to Amp Hours

The Victron system that Pat has just fitted (see other thread) allows the user to set an appropriate Peukert Value. Hate that name "Peukert" seems an unfortunate thing to have on a boat :-) M

    OT: Sandals

Interesting that on my computer an advert for Keens came up right below this topic today :-) Also interesting that like all good propulsion sources, feet come in pairs (twins). Isn't it boating season yet? Merv

    West Marine - Seattle/Portland?

Don't know answer to your specific question but if I was in Seattle I would go to Fisheries Supply. The WM in Seattle used to be good but I believe it moved (?) M

    Daylight Savings Mar 8, 2014

When told the reason for daylight savings time, the Old Indian said, "Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket," :-) M

Factory option suggestions for new boats

Hey Jim, Are you suggesting that we should be able to get some of those Sprinter slide-outs on C-Dories ??? That would be a fun project :-) (not) We have often thought about the fact that the "View" was the same length as our boat but with a lot more room. M

    New Poo Regulations ??

Oooops! http://www.peninsuladailynews.com/artic ... rt-angeles and I bet this was not an isolated event with all the rain we had (except for Sequim and here on Whidbey :-))

    Venture at the show

Dave, Having experienced both sides of this fence I have to agree with you, rotation and prop walk are two different items You can turn any Twin engined boat around in it's own length given a bit of experience and an application of steady, balanced power. The prop walk issue only occurs when...

    New Poo Regulations ??

Bob, You are 100% right, and plastics are a real problem from the large chunks all the way down to the nano-plastics which can actually be ingested by some of the most basic life forms on the planet, and we know where that leads. Being realistic I don't see any hope of reconciliation between...

    New Poo Regulations ??

Roger, Thanks for the references. That is exactly what I heard along with some other alarming details like you can actually tell what day it is (sometimes) by doing water analysis in the Sound. Thanksgiving and Valentines day showed massive peaks of "relevant products". Didn't see any evidence...
