    Bottom Painting

I"ve done a bit more research and I"m wondering about this product now. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/us ... o?pid=2330 I think for my uses of never having the boat in the water for more than a week at a time and rarely even that long it may be a good bet. I'd be fine with just...

    Bottom Painting

The more I recall of cleaning the bottom when I initialy bought and doing more research on this, I think those were limpets attached to the boat. I can't find any blistering anywhere on the boat My plan of attack now is. Powerwash paint off, Scrap off any barnacles/limpet left on and lightly...

    Bottom Painting

Thanks for the responses. I don't see too much blistering on the bottom. The sides and back seem to be in the worst shape. I"m uploading new pictures of the bottom paint currently to my album. The boat will be stored on a trailer from now on with my ownership. I generally don't spend more than...

    Bottom Painting

My boat was berthed all of its life in the delta until I bought it. The bottom paint was in rough shape when I purchased and also had barnacles etc... I still have not done anything to it besides a light power washing and feel it is time. There is still some rough spots and some barnacles. I...

Motor Ran Rough, Flooded? Water in gas?

Interesting, that sounds like that may be it. Maybe too much pressure in the system or the velocity of gas entering the carbs caused the float to get stuck. If this happens in the future any way of curing it besides just waiting it out?

Motor Ran Rough, Flooded? Water in gas?

Everything in the fuel system is practically brand new. Fuel lines, bulbs, Filter etc.. I replaced everything when I rebuilt the carbs a month ago. I'm in California and use 87 so roughly 10% ethanol I believe. I also add mercury fuel stabilizer on every fill up and the gas was fresh-got it...

Motor Ran Rough, Flooded? Water in gas?

I was camping the last couple days on my 22 Classic Cruiser with twin Yamaha 40's. I rebuilt the carbs and increased jet size because of previous issues with these motors many know about. I have taken the boat out many times and its ran great but I had a strange issue happen when I took it out...

    baitwell question...

I have a 22, and I"m very happy with this 13 gallon model bait tank http://www.boatdepot.com/p-6592/aquawor ... -ultratank. I made a table ( stole bcassal idea) that sets over the transom and it sets there when in use. For the 22 I wouldn't want any larger then this because of the extra...

    Camping chairs

Just bought two of these: http://www.amazon.com/Helinox-Chair-Ult ... =chair+one I don't think you will find another chair that is more portable. It is very comfortable. We now leave them in the 22 full time. They are easy to stow and perfect to pop open in the cockpit and enjoy. The seem...

    Right Time to Replace Anodes

I searched more and found this article to be helpful. It says to replace annually or when they are about half the original size. Mine are no where near half their size, probably not even 3/4. Opinions seem to differ though. http://www.performancemetals.com/anodes/AnodeFAQs.shtml

    Right Time to Replace Anodes

I"ve searched this forum and briefly online to find the right time to replace both the internal and external Anodes on the outboards. A lot of answers seem to be when they show signs of corrosion. I would think the answer would be when you see actual degradation or size reduction from your...

    Gasoline Fittings Thread Sealant

Hardee, Yes the OB's I did the carb jobs on are the original outboards twin 2003 Yamaha F40's. There was about 600hrs on the motors when I purchased and now there is about 760. I feel I should be able to get at least 2000hrs out of these motors especially since I seem to be doing all the work...

    Gasoline Fittings Thread Sealant

Hardee, I only replaced the fuel feed lines from tanks to filter, selector switch to outboard. I can visually inspect the inside of the other lines and they looked fine. Total was about $180 plus tax. I went with A1 rated fuel line from west marine. 10 feet of 3/8 and 10 feet of 5/16 which...

    Gasoline Fittings Thread Sealant

I"m doing a complete fuel system overhaul as part of preventative maintenance and because I just completed carb rebuilds and jet changes to my Yamaha Twin 40's. Thanks JOEL-SEA3PO for all of the help! They are running much better then before. I have completely cleaned all fittings- took some...

    Duras inflatables

Thanks for the reply. I have owned similar boats (same material/size) and I feel I need something a little more rugged for my use. I will be doing camping/diving/clamming from this boat as well. Anybody have the West Marine air inflatable? http://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-mari ...

    Duras inflatables

Hi all, I currently own an around 7.5ft off brand roll up dinghy. As it works decently and is light and easy to store it leaks a bit (I've heard this is common with roll ups) and really is a bit small. I"ve owned 3 Porta botes in the past and loved them so was looking to get the 8 foot...

    Jeeps and C-Dory's, a connection?

I agree with the Subaru comparison, but I may be bias because of my new WRX purchase and the fact that my family has owned and loved Subarus for the last 15 or so years. Hunky Dory wrote: [In the comparable time I've owned & used both C-Dory & the 80000 miles on the two Jeep Wrangler...

    V berth storage

I'm resurrecting this thread because I started the project today of adding 3 hatches for storage in the V berth similar to what others have done. Total ebay cost of hatches-around $214. I figured I didn't need high quality since they will not be exposed to outdoor elements and don't need to be...

Left yamaha flushing connectors disconnected underway

Thanks for the offer Joel, It turns out the maintenance shop at my work has a quality carb sync tool I can borrow so it solves the issue for me. Has anyone done or considered changing out the fuel line in the motor itself? If I get these motors running good again I"m going to change out all...
