    Live Bait Well Design

Oops - correct; bronze. ZOINKS!!! Heck I don't even know if a brass one exists. 3M 5200 on the sealing. Hole was already there so it was a swap out. My transom mount highwater pickup works fine. Does the job for $15; I thought it would tear off, but everyone I know who uses them...

    Live Bait Well Design

I've been living on borrowed time on the Johnson Pump that I had. It was a plastic thru-hull fitting. I just replaced it with a brass seacock which then leads to the pump. While there I had the outflow plastic fitting replaced as well. I've know two people who have had issues with the...

    RinseKit

Some folks around here use 2 gallon sprayersat boat ramps that don't have spigots. Mainly a quick rinsing of the hubs. Most guides I see immediately spray their trailers immediately after launching.. Not as fancy, but gets the job done.

    Tomcat - retail price

That's pretty much it. I would hate to buy a boat and just watch it sit. My current boat sits intermittently at home and has been relegated to Tarpon/Grouper fishing. I'm on the kayak bandwagon. I could easily see putting a couple kayaks in/on a TC and cruising to the local holes...

    Tomcat - retail price

Well...I do plan on a Great Loop trip as well. Keys are close enough for a 4-5 day outing, and the Bahamas are a quick drive across the state. So a trailerable livein is ideal. Ranger Tug would be ideal for that. You can see I'm somewhat all over the map. However, being realistic, on a more...

    Tomcat - retail price

Yeah...I've looked at the Ranger 27, yet somehow I keep coming back to the TC. The last one on the For Sale forum was a steal. The dual outboards and +30 knots is what appeals to me. Make those offshore trips very doable. The piece I'm struggling with is the upgrade to a Superduty truck in...

    Tomcat - retail price

10-4; thanks. I guess the follow up would be how does that compare to the larger 25',26' CDories. Both are up my alley, but the Tomcat really felt like a better fit for my lifestyle. Regardless I'll call Marc.

    Tomcat - retail price

Anyone have a feel for a) price - base model, no options, but include trailer on a 2015 b) number made per year for the last 5-10 years Just curious as I possibly start "the quest".

Economy, twin emgines vs. single engine

Since economy is your main concern and it sounds like you already know that boats are a constant money/time hole there may be one thing that sways your decision on larger boats. If it has a head, galley, and berth a portion of the interest on a loan is deductible. More details here...the...

    Trasom Saver needed?

Not an official c-brat, but am a boater. I found this gizmo years ago and have been pleased with it. Some people debate the merits of using it. Personally I think it does the job just fine for absorbing shock, but the weight of the engine is still on the transom. I don't have to trailer far...

    Side scan sonar

From the museum of what it's worth...I use a side imaging to spot fish but big ones...tarpon. Here's my review of the Humminbird 598. It was written geared towards smaller craft/kayakers. If money is available I would get the biggest screen you can afford. The 598 is a 5" screen -...

    Thinking of Heading Off-Shore (70 miles) in C-Dory 25

How about posting some pics of fish when done? Just to come clean here. I don't own a C-Dory, but do fish a ton in my bay boat. For this thread most of the thoughts are equally applicable. Usual rules...boat plan, weather, communication... apply on any boat. I find the site very useful...

    Thinking of Heading Off-Shore (70 miles) in C-Dory 25

Yeah...I believe we had 6,500 lightning strikes in Tampa a day or so ago. Pretty impressive to watch; we also get those 30-50mph winds almost daily somewhere around here - right around 3/4pm, but it can be very localized. Heck this morning it downpoured about 1" of rain about a block away -...

    Thinking of Heading Off-Shore (70 miles) in C-Dory 25

It's all about the risk/reward...so some questions: - if you have younger kids (say < 14) you might think twice about going solo - if you have a wife you'll want life insurance paid up; this assumes you're the major bread winner, but regardless, you'll want to take care of her; and yes she'll...

    Luci Inflatable Solar Lantern

Received the gizmos and promptly filled one up with air and tossed it in the pool. Left it powered up for 5 hours at night and it was still going strong - not as strong as the start, but strong. I suspect chlorine isn't good for them, but let's see if it deteriorates. I'll do it a several...

    Luci Inflatable Solar Lantern

Order the Sunbright ones. Has great potential for many uses other than standard lighting - like tie it and throw it overboard to attract small fish, shrimp lights, backup anchor light...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Woke up this morning and had a strong cup of Joe...on the way to work I saw a major fire; outside a woman was yelling "Save my Kittens"; the firemen said no one should go in. I told him that I was a C-Dory owner and I was going in. 7 Kittens later and many accolades ("Thank God a C-Dory owner...

Learn how to use that radar & go slow in the fog

Funny that I should see this here. Our fishing club (Southshore Anglers) meets at that location every first Thursday of the month. I went there last week and saw that the Sunset grill has fully embraced the calamity by creating a new menu item called the "Shipwreck Stew". The damage was...
