Bennett Bolt Trim Tabs on a 16 Angler

Whilst I appreciated your point of view and your bias. I will ask you one question. If you weigh 160lb, as I do, and you have a 210 lb passenger, you have 2 or more options. Shift tackle box, ice chest and cannon balls to the starboard side of the boat-presto your trimmed out. Or-- use as you...

Bennett Bolt Trim Tabs on a 16 Angler

Hi 16 Angler (HooKs) -- My boat Blueback is also a 16 ' Angler and no way in gods green earth or blue sea would I complex my simple straight forward 16' Angler with trim taps. Reasons: 1 - it is not stern heavy 2- it can be simply trimmed by shifting weight or passengers. 3- You may consider a...

    seat installation

Lovely chair -- the trouble is you need a poop deck to mount it on-- 16'ers need every inch in the cockpit for essentials like a large tackle box and cooler. In my case I have a plastic milk crate which gives me "storage" for my flashers- release clips etc. with a nice soft fabricated lid I made...

Wowee-- what do you do with all that crap --feed the neighbourhood. Or make up freezer packs-- and if so -- how well does crap keep in the freezer. Tell us about the pot- is that a commercial top entry--or? Is your success from the type of trap or location -- or both? thanks TyBoo Geoff

    Happy Thanksgiving To All

A happy and safe "American Thanksgiving". To our America bests friends and good neighbours-- The C-Brats. We-in Canada, had our Thanksgiving on Oct.12 as that is a more appropriate date for our northern latitude "above the 49th". And, for those who believe we are now buried in snow for the...

    For Motorcyclists

At 80 I have decided that the bike I will ride into the future is my BMW F650GS duel -purpose, with a 800cc Austrian Rotax engine. On a quite - open highway I have had to 110mph and it was still climbing smartly. I normal ride at the speed limit though, and this was just a test run . My wife...

    Bad stuff in BC

I question #1, especially with A DSC radio--and the vessel should have had DSC. All you have to do, is flip a piece of plastic, and hit the red button---less time and effort than to locate flares, and step outside of the wheel house. Every skipper should have a plan for each emergency. When...

    Impeller Debris in engine

I have always drained my carbs too. Then when I connect to the fuel line again I let the bowls flush a bit, getting any residual dregs to drain out. Works for me. PS: I don't use any ethanol gas . Also add "stabil" and ring free additives. I also have an external fuel filter/water trap as well .

    new power

Right on Larry. Re: "Newton's first law of motion" said it best in the 1800's -- something like this: For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. Therefore, the action and force in turning the prop to the right means the motor housing absorbs the equal "reactionary" force to the...

    2005 C Dory 19' Angler

I am a Canadian - here in Qualicum Beach and presently own a C-Dory 16' Angler-- love the boat but would like the overnight cuddy of the 19'. Your looking for an American buyer it would seem for the exchange rate difference, which puts it out of my price range as a reasonable price to pay. If...

    C Dory cruiser 16

As a fishing boat the 16' Angler model has more cockpit room to swing a rod or land a fish etc. I have one and it great for 2 people with rods -- 3 is pushing it unless their not fishing. 700 lbs for people and 1100 lbs total for all gear, motor and people. I would never go to the max thought. A...

    Compass required?

I find it somewhat amusing to see a discussion of minimal requirements for a pleasure craft sailing in Canadian waters. Like the fear of prosecution is all one should be concerned with? Hey, we are Canadian- friendly and polite --LOL. Now lets get to the safety aspect regardless of the Regs. A...
